LP City Wood Congas 10" & 11" Set - Natural Satin Finish

I've played congas for 20 years and finally wanted a set of my own for at home. But since I'd be using them for practice, not taking them out on gigs, I did not want to spend a ton of money. These are great - nice shells (I like the rubber edge on the bottom, good for not scratching the drum if not using the stand). I got good tone from the heads, even better after a bit of tuning, with a nice sharp attack on the slap. The stand is well made and not flimsy. and the price point was very reasonable--I got these for about what one "artist series" aka high end professional conga would cost. They sound great!

This set is low-cost option with surprisingly high value drums and hardware. This is my first conga set. The sound is wonderful. Full deep tones with standard tuning pegs.

A gift for my wife - she was surprised and delighted. These are really attractive, look quite sturdy, and fun. My wife and I are not professionals (by a long shot) - we found these to be delightful distractions from the stresses of life. They are quite heavy - so I would give portability 3 stars, but that should not be a negative. They're BIG - so they aren't that portable. How portable is a full drum set?

Packed very securely for shipping. Very nice tone and resonance. Well made and fun to play.

Nice congas but the large one has several small dents in two places. Possibly from the factory or from shipping. No way to tell which. They do pack the metal stand in with the large drum so maybe that was it. Not bad enough for me to pack them back up, but disappointing none the less.

The mount is very solid and stable, and the drums are about as portable as any standard size conga would be. They are heavier than the last set I had, but I consider it a good thing, and I love the sound. Excellent value for the price.

A must buy for the price!!!
