Worked great but briefly . Now it just wont recognize the black cartridge. I am stuck with a useless set. I tried everything to get it working. Cant return. Ordered these last year in sept. The store/seller reached out to me and reimbursed my purchse 100%. That was awesome. I could not believe. They explain that epson will on every software update change the way the printer recognizes the cartridges. And that is what happen to me. I updated and my cartridges and they quit working. I will purchase from them in thw future and i will not update my printer. Thank you.

I ordered two packages of TopKolor ink for Epson XP-4200 in February. I installed the Topkolor colored ink cartridges, but have been using an Epson brand black cartridge. The printer has been working fine. Today the display indicated that a new black cartridge was needed. When I installed the TopKolor black cartridge, it was rejected. There is no email address or phone number for customer support printed on the Topkolor box. I found instructions via my Amazon order. Advice from Topkolor is to override firmware update via settings. My printer display will not reset until I install the correct cartridge. I've watched several YouTube videos, but none address this problem. I cannot now do anything until I purchase an Epson ink cartridge. I've already invested too much time trying to resolve this issue. Save yourself the money and aggravation. Do not buy! I would like to return the second unopened box of Topkolor ink, but since it was purchased in February, there is no option to return.

Of all of the NON-Epson® brand 232XL replacement ink cartridges or "carts", this brand exclusively by Amazon are the only ones that worked immediately upon installation. This mfgr. pays attention to detail and placed the correct chips in the cart as shown in the photo below. Other brands do not do that or install incorrect chips knowing they will not work but they already have your money. I calculated that in one years time I would save ~$300 /year depending on use of course. Being a disabled senior every dollar counts especially these days. This is the brand for me from here on out. What took me so long to discover them? PLEASE NOTE: (BEWARE) Although the printer will accept these cartridges the printer may display "PLEASE UPDATE FIRMWARE". D-O N-O-T update the firmware - should you do that, the printer chip will NOT recognize a non-Epson® brand and refuse to accept them forcing you buy their brand-named ink carts, defeating your cost savings instantly. It's a way of tricking you into buying the brand name ink replacement carts. If you buy Amazoncs bulk bottled replacement ink to refill the carts yourself, you MUST do so PRIOR to reaching 15% ink level available. Either way, Amazons' bottled ink and ink cartridge replacements are the finest non-Epson® brand available.

This item did not work for my printer, the item description shows that it would. When I reached out with my problem I was told it does not qualify for any type of resolution due to the fact that the order is over 60-days. I quess that I get screwed due to being a proactive buyer, I don't wait until I am out of ink to order replacement cartridges.

I was initially hesitant to try non-genuine ink cartridges for my printer, but after reading so many positive reviews, I decided to give Topkolor ink cartridges a try — and I’m so glad I did! The print quality is amazingly good, and the cartridges have worked perfectly with my printer. Best of all, they save me a significant amount of money compared to the original brand. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality ink at a great price!

*Update February 2025*: My printer automatically updated its firmware, and now it will not recognize these cartridges. It seems from other reviews that other users have run into this problem. I will attempt to turn off automatic updates on my printer in the future to prevent this sort of cash grab from Epson (since only their name-brand cartridges will now work on my printer). It’s a double bummer because I can’t use the TopKolor cartridges I already paid for, and now I have to shell out more for the name brand. These ink cartridges are easy to install, fit our printer perfectly, and provide just the same print quality as the OEM products. I can’t speak to longevity since we’ve only had them a few months, but the ink levels in our printer appear to be holding up well.
