It does take someone looking at the target as you use the laser to verify where it is aiming. Do NOT listen to those people who didn't like this sight. It wasn't the easiest to zero in, but watch youtube and it all makes sense. Suppose you have a deer right at sunrise just behind a tree you know is 25 yds. Is the deer at 26 or 32? Farther? Tough to tell in low light, right? Not with this! Most decent sights are at least this price, and you get a super accurate rangefinder built in? Best hunting equipment I've bought in a long time. My bow will ALWAYS have one of these on it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Spend the time, read the instructions. *by T***H on Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2020* The concept, and application of this bow-sight are awesome. A few design improvements are possible, so I will start with setup. I installed this on a Mathews Monster bow. Draw length is 32.3 and draw weight is 82 pounds, due to custom limbs and strings. These matter to the setup because the arrows shoot very flat, making pin-spacing close. Per the instructions, sight in the bow with the 20 yard pin. The sight comes with two mounting holes, but the rearward holes are also above the forward holes, meaning that, in order to push the sight further out, it would also be lower. That at 6'5, lowering the sight won't work, but slightly further out would be nice. When setting up the 20 yard pin, be aware the entire front of the sight can be disconnected and moved to the right.. This will probably be necessary on most bows with aluminum risers. Even then, the windage knob will be near it's limits. Once the 20 yard pin is sighted, the instructions say to adjust the screws near the mounting bolts, to adjust the laser, which is preset to line up with range finder. There are two problems with this. The first is, while range finders are allowed in Washington state, lasers are not. The laser is not removable while still being sure it can be accurate when reinstalled. The second problem is that, because the adjustment screws lean and tilt the entire sight from the back, the 20 yard pin is now waaay off. As in, lose my arrows off. This process will need to be repeated several times (like 6) before your 20 yard pin is both accurate and I-line with the laser/range finder. This could be solved by making the yaw and pitch adjustments OUTSIDE, as in further forward, than the roll adjustment. this would offer more adjustment of the laser, with minimal affect on the pin location relative to your peep. Once sighted, then all the other pins can be adjusted for yardage. The pins are bright, and accurately sized, but I do wish they offered them in 10 thousandths instead of only 19 thousandths. The readout on the range finder is bright and easy to read, but it is obscured by the riser when adjusted correctly on my bow. The work around for me was simply to open my left eye to read the range finder, and then close it again. The button to toggle the range finder worked very well, and I use my left index finger to activate it, mounted to the front of my grip. I have NO IDEA what they expect me to do with all the extra cord. A non-curly cord could be wrapped up and zip-tied to something, but this is a cluster. Several reviews noted the added weight to the front of the bow, but my stabilizer literally exists to add weight to the front of the bow, so while it is heavy, it does not negatively affect the performance of the bow. After several hundred arrows, one of the fiber-optic wires started to push out of the sight pin, but because of the location of the fiber wires, it is incredibly easy to gently pull it back into place and put a tiny rubber-band around the bundle to keep it from happening again.The overall concept is fun, and the sight is well-made and very accurate. The only reason it lost a star is because of a design flaw making set-up about 6 times as long as it needs to be.
