I've tried making my own several times, but it's usually a miss in the flavor department. And I've tried several store bought versions, both instant, and ready to drink. I would rate the Grevity rx, lemon and herb flavor, second in my ranking. Definitely has the price category beat, and flavor is pretty good. It has more of an herb flavor, than chicken, but I've always had to add herbs and seasoning to other brands, to get the flavor I wanted. So that's one less step in preparing. I was a little worried after mixing up my first cup, when the broth was white, instead of broth looking. But I'm very happy with it, plus the added health benefits over other brands.
