A top choice for both casual and refined occasions, Taylor’s LBV combines centuries-old craftsmanship with modern accessibility.

## Description

Product Description Late bottled vintage is the most popular premium port style in both England and Canada, representing one in five purchases of port in the UK and over a quarter of all port enjoyed by Canadians. Lbv present a selection of very fine full bodied red ports from a single year. The fundamental difference between the two styles lies in the way each is matured. Vintage port is kept in wood for only twenty months or so before being transferred to the bottle where it will continue to age. Late bottled vintage, as the name suggests, is bottled later, remaining in wood between four and six years. During this relatively long period of wood ageing, an LBV matures and settles down - it is ready to drink when bottled, does not need to be decanted and can be served by the glass for several weeks after the cork is drawn. Lbv was developed as a high quality but more affordable and immediately drinkable alternative to vintage port to be enjoyed by the glass on everyday occasions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The 2016 is a very decent and elegant LBV port that belies its low price point
*by J***B on 14 May 2021*

LBV port, despite being theoretically ready-to-drink and a more accessible vintage port style, tends to fall into three categories: 1) young and fruity - fine, but nothing exciting 2) rich, tannic, in need of extended bottle ageing - very good, but not ready to drink 3) mature, woody, ready This is very much in category 3. 2016 is an excellent year. A full vintage was declared and the vintage ports from 2016 look extremely promising. This is a delicious LBV port. Full of bramble fruit, delicate tannins, woody notes, and some "garrigue" herb and spice notes. I'm about to order 6 more bottles. Unbeatable at under a tenner!
