Is it effective when connected (with a help of a switch) between my ISP modem and router WAN port?** A: The box can block at IP layer, so it can lock out anything you want. These blocks will still consume CPU, so if you have a huge flood of syn packets, nothing will help. You can not connect the box between the modem and the WAN port, the box is a IP layer device, it will need an IP address.
