Very nice beeswax, easy to melt in a double boiler. I formed some into bricks for using in my leatherwork, some of the other I made into a sealing paste mixed with some other ingredients. I like that it is in little pellets, it makes it easier to measure out and quicker to melt. 6lbs definitely goes a long way. I may even try making some of my own candles with it in the future.

I like to make my own past wax and include a tin with every purchase of one of my wooden projects. I prefer an oil and wax finish to film finishes as I feel it allows you to see and feel the wood at its best. I used this to blend with some carnuba wax and oil. It melted well, integrated into my mixture well, and when it was all poured into the tins, it all set up to the right consistency without any signs of graininess.

The media could not be loaded. I did not get it tested in a lab, but here are three main reasons that makes me question the purity of this beeswax:1. When I opened the bag, it smelled like chemicals. I was expecting either no event at all or maybe a little sweet scent2. I read that beeswax is hard and slippery (and not at all sticky) when it's cold. Well I put it in the freezer for two hours, then stuck my hand in the bag and my hand was covered in sticky pellets.3. If you watch the video, you'll see a good amount of soot come off when the flame hits the side of the candle. I had another video that showed no soot when the flame did not touch the wax, but amazon only allowed one video per review. Real beeswax is supposed to burn clean.I'm really sad about this. I wanted to make blessed candles but I've been instructed to only use PURE beeswax. They are fine if you are making just regular candles, but if you need something absolutely pure, I would advise you to look elsewhere.

I ordered this to try out beeswax after having only worked with soy wax before. I wasn't really prepared for just how sticky beeswax is or how different it sets from soy wax but I had a great time using this and I got some gorgeous candles made. I still have more than half of the wax left over to continue experimenting.I had an easy time melting and pouring this wax. I left it to set overnight and the next day removed very solid, beautiful pillar candles from their silicon molds. The candles did sink a bit but that is part of the learning process and I now understand a few of the differences between beeswax and soy wax better.I think this is a good choice for someone who wants to expand the types of wax they have been using. I would definitely recommend using a dedicated melting pot for the beeswax because it does not clean easily at all and is not water soluble. It behaves much more like honey than like soy wax. Just be prepared for the specifics of how beeswax works and you'll be fine.This is a really nice beeswax for pillar candles. I would recommend it to others.

It's great this is made from natural beeswax. I also like that it comes in small bits - much easier and quicker to melt what amount you need. Overall works very well and nice to be able to get it in this quantity. Very happy.
