I wanted to have a wire that would remain flexible even if the temperatures dropped below freezing at night. Like other have pointed out, the jacket will rip easily so use a knife or razor blade to separate the conductors. Be sure and use a piece of shrink tube to keep the wires from splitting more. I like to crimp and solder my connections so there will never be a loose connection. The wire is pre-tinned so it was very easy to solder the contacts.
