Great bit of kit!
Bought this because I needed to reset my VW Touran airbag light. Had replaced the stereo and then the battery died which then caused the airbag system to see low voltage and switch off. I have tried apps with Bluetooth odbII modules but none did the trick. Thought I would spend a bit of money on this due to the good reviews and figuring it is still cheaper than asking VW to reset it. This worked a treat. The instructions are a bit light on content but the device is pretty intuitive and if you are a logical thinker you will have no problems figuring it out. When resetting the airbag light I also noticed several other modules in the car had faults recorded, all due to low voltage. Now there are no lights and the car drives perfectly. Now to figure out why the stereo screen is now just white but that's another issue for another time. The screen was white before I used this, this did not cause it.

Straightforward fault diagnosis
I purchased this to identify the fault causing the engine management light to come up on my 64 plate 1.6TDi Golf. A cheaper device did not detect any faults. Plugged in to the cars OBD2 connection straight out of the box, scanned for OBD fault codes and the Ancel VD500 found the fault code immediately, along with a description. It was an open circuit on a glow plug, nothing on the emission system that was going to cost hundreds of pounds. A quick check with a multimeter confirmed that the glow plug was open circuit. New glow plug £8.50 and a 10 minute job to change. The main dealer would have charged £60 to identify the fault alone. Used the Ancel to clear the fault and drove away. Fault has not come back. The cars handbook leads you to believe that this could be an expensive fault - it fails to mention that the fault could also be caused by a defective glow plug or glow plug circuit. I updated the Ancel, using the instructions provided, and the latest download from the website. This failed the first time only because I didn't read the instructions properly. Remember to update the main file and the Flash file. I have also used this to check for fault codes on two other family cars, both VWs. Only took a few minutes and found no fault codes. One of the cars is an automatic & the Ancel picked this up straight away and gave the option of scanning the automatic transmission for faults. All in all an essential piece of kit that will save you money the first time you use it & not let a garage fleece you. Not used it to reset service/oil change yet.

Does the basics.
Used to set skoda superb to brake service and then to clear service once oil change complete. So works well with skodas. Easy to connect. Instructions not easy to follow, doesn't explain the different parts of the menu.

It reads and clears most faults 10/10 for what I wanted to do
I had 2 issues 1 airbag light ( came on due to me disconnecting a wire. ). Fixed the air bag light 2. To my surprise I have had an issue with my acc since my other half hit an owl. And it cleared their faults on that and now it’s working saved loads also it cleared down faults I had with my head unit too So in my eyes money well spent

Superb!
I bought a cheaper generic OBD code reader as my car had an airbag light on. The cheap one didn't find any faults. This one is three times the price but much but it worked perfectly! I managed to find the code and reset it and it hasn't returned since. I changed the airbag switch as the reader suggested it was the issue and there was no issue afterwards. This cost probably as much as a diagnostic session from a garage so it has already shown it's worth and now I have it for good and continue to use it going forward.
