Selections Bird Feeding Station Stabiliser Stand Base Feet Gound Spikes

Bought this to support a Kingfisher bird feeding station, as damp, stony ground could not hold its weight. Good things: It works! The feeding station is solid now in all weathers. It is still easy to move from place to place as recommended by bird authorities. It is easy to use, the stand coming in two parts; each has a tube and two prongs of thick wire. The tubes slide easily over the feeding station post and each tightens with a grub screw. The wire prongs push into the ground so with the centre post there are five points of entry into the grass. Some observations: The fact it comes in two parts means one pair of prongs is higher on the centre post, but since the prongs are all the same length the lower two are effectively longer. This is not much of a problem on grass, but it would be an improvement if one pair of wire prongs was longer. The construction is solid and strong, with thick paint, but could not be described as precise or elegant. Hardly an issue in my wet, cold, winter garden, but just so you know.

The bird feeder station I wanted had bad reviews regarding its height. It was perfect in every other way so I bought this stand hoping it would make it tall enough. And it did. For anyone who finds themselves in the same position, finding your almost ideal bird feeding station, this stand can make it tall enough, it also makes it more stable, that alone is a good reason to buy it.

Excellent quality, I bought it for my bird feeding station which came from B&M as it didn't come with one and I live on a slight hill so the station started to lean despite cementing it in. Since putting the stabiliser on, it now stands tall and straight and very sturdy, doesn't wobble, even when larger birds are landing on it and the pole is not leaning anymore, even after heavy rain and wind. Very pleased with my purchase and I would recommend to anyone. Very good value for money.

I am now able to place the pole holding my bird feeders at the edge of a bed so the seeds the birds chuck out lands on the slabs and is easier to keep clean. It holds the pole very firm and there have been no problems even in strong winds. It is exactly what I was looking for and I am very satisfied with this stabilizer. Another good thing it is easy to instal and when I changed my mind about where it should go it was very simple to move.

This did not do what it says on the tin! It was the wrong size and yet came up on the Amazon site as a suggested accessory to make the bird feeder more stable. My brother had to take it away and drill the hole out to make it fit so unless you have someone in the family who is skilled at DIY, you are on to a loser! The spike itself was robust and well made but just couldn't do the job it was supposed to do, without alteration.

Well-made, easy to assemble, sturdy and should provide excellent stability. However if you have stony soil, like I do, it is difficult to put in position. With four holes needed for the prongs plus one for the pole, there is a high probability of encountering at least one stone.

Very pleased. This is exactly what we needed and I’m glad we found something at such a reasonable price. It arrives in two pieces and you just slot on bit on top of the other - easy is an understatement. They fit together perfectly and I had no issues with them misaligning. Stuck the feeder pole through and into the ground and then banged the four stabilisers into the ground a bit (not all the way - as pictured) then tightend the screws to hold the pole in place. It all feels very sturdy and safe and I’m very pleased. Thank you!
