Because it is so light and maneuverable it would be a good fighting knife. Probably not good for nothing else. Deadly.

Sent wrong sheath with restraining strap not big enough to button and secure knife. Found a slight wiggle in the blade where it attaches to the hilt. And most disappointing part is a expected the handle to be of knurled cross hatched metal so the pommel end of the knife could be used for head strikes, but found to my great disappointment that the handle of the knife is made of some kind of plastic material

Excellent replica of a Sykes Fairbairn knife. I feel that the steel may be a slightly lower grade. But that's not something I completely understand or can test for. If you really think you're going to use this kind of knife for its intended purpose (and the original was beautifully designed for just that), I don't think you're going to have it bend on somebody's rib cage. LOL!

Very sharp

It's light and basically what it says in the description: a solid, cheap lookalike. It differs from the original V42 design in a few ways but all differences are clear in the product pics: no "thumbprint" ground into the ricasso, the handle is knurled metal instead of concentric rings, no leather washer on the guard, etc. Also I think it's powder coat paint, which flakes a to shiny metal. For example, in the gouge discussed below. The sheath unfortunately comes with a sharp scratchy button that directly contacts the knife and scratches it deep enough to remove paint. Pics show alignment and scratch. That gouge was from the first time inserting the knife into the sheath and using the safety snap, which was probably a knife-rookie error. I assumed the sheath would not destroy the knife, but that's what it does, as pictured. You can even see the the additional scratching from snapping/unsnapping. I will be replacing and apparently will have to buy a non-destructive sheath separately.

Excellent quality and very sharp

Shipping was fast, but the knife resembles more like a mid-evil dagger than a sykes-fairbairn dagger, so if mid-evil weapons is your cup tea this will fit right in.

The overall balance and construction was decent. No edge was ground into the blade. It was butter knife dull. The tip was even dull.
