Durable and well made

This is a fantastic bag. I really like the quality of the stitching, I know it will hold up to some serious range days or field use. It has plenty of space in the end pockets and the center pouch for comprehensive medical supplies, extra ammo, or whatever you want to carry.I would definitely recommend this bag, and think it is just a notch above the SOG equivalent.

I’ve been a fan of 5.11 for a while and this range bag is another winner from them. It’s built very well, with nice feeling materials, good stitching, quality velcro, as well as robust zippers and snap buckle. It’s also well thought-out, with plenty of room for all your mags, ammo, cleaning supplies and nicknacks. The mash padding makes it comfortable to wear even when lugging around a lot of mags and there’s plenty of MOLLE real estate for attachments. It’s a solid piece of kit and I’m happy to have it in my stash!

5.11 has a lot of thoughtful designs and this item is included in that. Ample space yet comfortable if you did want to sling it to move around. Could be used for straight equipment or to hold actual kit for serious use. Stitching is great, the color is good and not really reflective. Just screams quality vs off brand stuff. If you need one that will hold up to use 5.11 is where it is at.

I already own several 5.11 items, so I had high expectations for this bag, and for the most part I was not disappointed except for a few caveats. This bag is the latest iteration of the Bail Out Bag that 5.11 has been selling for many years, which was designed specifically for active shooter response teams. I am using it as a staging bag to complement one of my rifles that I set up as a home defense gun for my rural Appalachian Mountain homestead.This is reminiscent of the 5.11 brand Range Ready Bag but in a different format, but it is just as well constructed. There is not a lot of structure to this bag, however, which I mention below.Pros:- Weighs just under 1.5-pounds and is durably constructed of thick 1050D water-resistant ballistic nylon and uses what appear to be durable zippers with no-jingle P-Cord.- Exterior pockets have plenty of room for 6-plus AR standard capacity magazines (2 per pouch), several pistol magazines, or other accessories such as IFAK components like Israeli bandages or Tourniquets.- There are additional organizational side pockets that can hold a variety of other accessories and are large enough to accommodate slim ear pro.- Has patches of PALS / Molle attachment points on the sides for adding accessories, although I would only attach something small based on the size of this bag.- Has a padded sling shoulder strap, and the back panel is lightly padded and has a nice breathable mesh.- Stitching is doubled up throughout the bag and appears durable.Cons:- The back of the bag where it rests against your body, although slightly padded, does not have any stiffener to help hold its shape or prevent something hard from protruding against you.- There is no padding at all on the bottom of the bag, so setting it down hard could conceivably damage contents within.- The bag itself has no structure, so it can be quite saggy if not fully packed out.- The inner liner of the main compartment with the Molle/PALS loops and Hook and Loop fastener is not sewn to the face fabric of the bag, so if you add attachments to it, it sags away from the walls of the bag. The soft Velcro type fabric within is also very weak and does not hold attachments very well.- There are no internal organization pockets in the main compartment for things like keys, wallet, phone, etc.…- The shoulder strap is not removeable at all (just the shoulder pad is removeable), and I think on this style of bag the option to remove it should have been designed into it.- The mesh pocket on the crossbar strap is extremely small. I wish it had been made larger to accommodate personal electronics or sunglasses.- The Zipper Sliders appear to be polymer and not metal, and they are not branded as YKK like those on some other 5.11 bags. I put a magnet to the zipper sliders to be sure, and there is no magnetism. How durable are polymer zipper sliders? Only time will tell.- Does not have any exterior water bottle pockets.- Could stand to have some dedicated pistol mag pouches.- The pull tabs on the flaps on the magazine pouches can be difficult to open when wearing gloves. I ended up threading some P-Cord through them for additional pull tabs.- I wish the zippers on the side pockets had dual zipper-pulls instead of just one on each zipper.- Most disappointing of all is that the Seller’s listing indicates that this bag is made in USA, but the tag inside indicates it is made in Vietnam.Despite my nitpicks, it is still a great bag at this price point that appears plenty durable. I just feel it misses the mark in a few areas and has not been substantially improved with the latest iteration. Regardless, I know that if I have any issues with the durability of this bag, that 5.11 has a great warranty, and that it is a well-respected and well-established brand in the tactical world that is regularly used and trusted by government agencies.

I expect quality from 5.11 and this doesn't disappoint. It is a fantastic bag with good material and stitching. Recommended

This 9L Bail Out Bag from 5.11 is exactly what I would have expected! It's extremely well made, and the fit and finish of the entire bag is fantastic. It has 3 big pouches on the outside that can be used for PMAGs or whatever you want to put in them, and the inside has adequate room for your daily carry needs. The material is super durable and all of the hardware (zippers, velcro, etc) are great quality. It has some molle mounting options on the shoulder strap pad as well as the little side pockets that would easily hold a tourniquet holder or other small molle utility pouch.If you love 5.11 and need a compact bag for daily use, this Bail Out Bag won't disappoint you one bit!
