Please call your dealer with the VIN and have them verify this before getting in over your head. Also, you will need to ground the emergency brake wire that is part of the harness. If you do not ground it, it will not start.. simple, but confusing if your working with an automatic transmission... Review: Know what you need and where to get it installed, this isn't a "stand alone" unit! - OK! I'm sitting in a shop right now paying to have this installed. So there's a few VERY important things you should know about this before you buy it. First: if you are a do it yourself kind of person, FORGET IT. Move along. Trying to contact Directed (the manufacturer of Viper brand products) is like trying to get Trump to accept a Muslim immigrant - it just isn't going to happen. Call them, email them, Directed doesn't deign talk to us lowly peasants, they ONLY deal with their vendors and retailers, the rest of us are like Metallica fans at a Boy George concert - we're not going to have a good time. Second: you can't get directions from the manufacturer, you can't get a "how-to", you can't even get an email back! Good freaking luck. So what you have to do is either 1. Know someone who is a dealer for Viper or 2. Be one yourself or 3. Suck it up buttercup, and find a retailer who will install this for you. You MIGHT save 30 or 40 bucks over the dealer price BUT thats if you can find a dealer who will install a factory refurbished system - I was told flat out by at least two dealerships that they only installed it if they sold it. So you may lose any savings you would otherwise have made because you have to go with a more expensive dealer for installation because that may be the only guy you can find to plug in a bring-your-own unit. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Yes, just like Billy Mays, this one keeps giving. You see, you have to have an interface for this to work with most factory stuff unless your ride is older than George Burns - and guess what, us peasants aren't given the details on how to program the interface. Oh it's out there on the internet, but digging it all up is a study in abject futility. So unless you're comfortable splicing wires with sketchy youtube advice and hand drawn questionable wiring details or unclear forum posts that you're TRYING to adapt to whatever you drive? Don't, just don't, go masturbate with a cheese grater, it will be more satisfying to you in the end. Once again, you may just lose any money you were going to save by having to do to whoever you can find who's WILLING to install this bring-your-own unit if you can't find all the information you need to do it yourself.
