I picked up this CARORY cabin air filter as a replacement for the factory filter, and I’m impressed with the initial quality. It features an activated carbon layer, which is a nice upgrade if your current filter is just a basic paper element. For a fraction of the dealership price, it provides a much fresher cabin environment. ​Pros ​Effective Odor Control: The activated charcoal/carbon layer does a solid job of neutralizing outside smells like exhaust fumes or dampness. ​Perfect Fitment: Sometimes aftermarket filters can be a bit "squishy" or slightly off-size, but this slid into the HVAC housing perfectly with no gaps. ​Solid Build Quality: The pleats are consistent and the frame is rigid enough that it doesn't collapse or whistle under high fan speeds. ​HEPA-like Filtration: It seems to trap fine dust and pollen effectively—great for allergy season. ​Value: You’re essentially getting OEM (or better) performance for about half the cost. ​Cons ​Airflow Resistance: Like most carbon-activated filters, there is a very slight trade-off in airflow. You might find yourself turning the fan up one notch higher than usual to get the same "blast" of air. ​Longevity: While it works great out of the box, charcoal filters tend to saturate over time. I’d recommend checking/replacing this every 12 months or 12,000 miles to maintain that "fresh" smell. ​Packaging: It arrived in a basic box; while the filter was fine, make sure to inspect it for any shipping damage to the pleats before installing.

This filter is cut perfectly to fit in the filter tray of my 2008 Civic. It's hard to explain but there are these little flanges that stick up alot of filters don't sit perfectly over them. This one does. It also has very good air flow, and filters very well.

2017 Honda Civic. Filter fits, activated carbon should keep odors down (none anyway but still). Had our son do it, along with the engine air filter. First time he'd ever done work on a car. He did the cabin air filter all by himself, I was standing next to the car. Only one person can really reach in there at a time so it was him. The drawer was a minute struggle, the cap covering the cabin air filter he got out before I could describe what he should be doing. He put the cabin air filter in (arrow pointing correct direction for air flow), put everything back. 2 pack of filters. Recommended interval is 15k-30k miles so it's 30k-60k worth of cabin air filters. We did this one at 30k miles and it wasn't super bad but was dirty.

Excellent fit and looks like it will do the job well. Only issue is that the Activated Carbon doesn't seem to do much to reduce exhaust fumes
