this set is has all the bases covered, if you need it --- this set has it. took these blue badboys out for a test drive last night out on the rockwall in Haliewa. if i had to trash every other piece i own a keep only this set, no hesitation on my part, wheres the rubbish bin? the fish clamp works splendidly on a 10 lb super thrashy guy we snagged, held him without any trouble despite his relentless attempt at mayhem. the pliers are superb, the cutter even sliced thru my braided 50lbs line like butter. even tried out that knot tool, at first i was making jokes about it, but once i tried it -- dang this doohickey is nice, eliminates the all too easy accidental hook mishap since it encloses the hook almost entirely. shears were great but the cutter on the pliers worked so well i didnt need them. very pleased i chose this set, no regrets

I have been looking forward to receiving this bit of kit, and I am not disappointed.I say straight off that the belt-clip scissors and the retractor hooked to the pliers have already made my fishing easier. I can't tell you the number of times I have misplaced my scissors and pliers and then tried to find them while holding a flopping, sharp-finned catfish. Now, those two implements are right at my side.The little HOOKEZE thing-a-ma-bob is of limited value to me because I primarily use treble hooks. The coiled lanyard I'll have to find a use for because I use the retractor for the pliers and clip the scissors to my pants.I have yet to find a hook remover that works on treble hooks swallowed by a catfish, but I'm willing to give the one included a try and report back.The fish grabber is a welcome addition because I have lost too many fish trying to land them with the fishing pole only to have them release just as I lift them out of the water.Recommended.

I’ve got boys who like to fish. They always steal my needle-nose pliers. Even just a pliers though isn’t quite the right tool for hook removal. So this kit puts it all together—fish grabber, pliers, scissors, hook removal tool, and a few other goodies. Now I get to keep my tools where they belong, until they lose another fish pliers like they did the last one…The knot tying tool is a bit flimsy and maybe a little gimmicky (it basically just holds a hook so you can spin it more easily), but the rest seems to be of good enough quality. This kit should prove helpful for any casual fisherman, and certainly most aspiring young ones. As is the case with every kit, you’re more likely to get the best possible gear if you buy pieces one-by-one according to your needs, but for those who are looking to cover all the bases with a minimum of effort, this should make you very happy.

This set is a great gift, especially for someone just beginning to fish. It gets you set up with all that you need. For more experienced fishers, it may seem that a little too much is packed in here, but that's not necessarily a dealbreaker. The scissors are sharp, and a lot of these tools tend to wear out, so this is a good replacement kit that keeps everything together.At the current price of less than $30, a good deal too.

This is a nice set up. Great pliers, awesome scissors, large perfectly functioning lip grippers, a hook remover, some tethers, both retractable and coil cable tethers. And even a little knot tying tool. However, I'll likely not use it. This is a great all-around kit. gives you a little bit of everything. For a seasoned fisherman that needs another set of tools for a different boat, tackle set up, or a beginner fisherman that needs a first set of tools. This hits all the marks. Has pretty much everything you'd need to get started.

This has tools that many anglers put off purchasing. If you have a beginning angler, this is a good option if you are looking for a gift idea. It comes in a nice box, so it is easy to wrap.The lip grabbers and needle nose pliers are really a safety item. Last year a northern pike inserted a hook into the webbing between my thumb and index finger. That would have been prevented if I had been using these tools. Recommended if you fish and don't have these tools, or if you need a gift idea.

All items arrived as pictured. Will be a great addition to the tackle box for my son's Christmas gift. Everything is well made and durable.

What I like about this kit is the variety of tools you receive. As a kayak fisherman, this kit has many essentials, especially snap-ring pliers and lip grips!The quality of the tools is excellent, and the lip grips are very good at holding fish. I have not used the hook-eze, as I use mostly artificial lures, but it seems like a cool device for tying hooks to line.Overall, I like this kit; it will come in handy on the kayak!
