At the end of August I finished a bottle of the product and decided to let it go for awhile to see what would happen as I had recently learned that magnesium was the key to lowering blood sugar and I had been taking it along with the Glucocil. I had good results and my fasting dropped about 100 points. However, I stopped the Glucocil when the bottle was finished and within two weeks, I noticed that my fasting blood sugar increased, though I was still taking the magnesium (in liquid form). After about four weeks, I opened my extra bottle of Glucocil and watched the numbers decrease slowly but steadily. I then purchased another supply. I have type 2 DB and was successful for many years controlling it with diet and exercise (walking). I gave the product 4 stars because it may take a long time for an individual to observe any benefit. I think it works for me because of the extra vitamin B in the product. I recently read The Vitamin Cure for Diabetes by Ian E. Brighthope, MD. I found this book helpful because it lists the vitamins and minerals required by diabetics, which greatly exceed the minimal amounts alleged to meet adult requirements. By reading this book, which is not long and gets to the point quickly, diabetics will see that the condition is one that might be related to nutritional deficiencies (Type 1 not included) and one that is not amenable to a pharmaceutical solution. P.S. Although there is much evidence to indicate that DB is related to genetics, so is the ability to metabolize vitamins and minerals. In short, some people need more.
