Has anyone used this for an electric bicycle?  my rad only weighs 65 lbs but it’s too heavy for me to lift onto a bike rack. how would one keep it up?

I use one similar to this and four ratcheting tie downs - two forward facing and two backward facing so that there is equal weight distribution and tension on the bike. It keeps it upright and solid and it went across the country with it that way on road and off-road. I bought mine at Harbor freight, but I was contemplating getting this one because I like the black. If it’s just as sturdy (which I’m not sure if it is because of the pricing), I would say it’s a great deal and works perfectly for an electric bike. Just be sure to get reflectors as it doesn’t appear to come with them. I’d also recommend you use a chain lock from the bike to the hitch and a hitch lock as well, as someone tried to steal the hitch off my truck with the bike on it and couldn’t do it. Woohoo!

Once my dirt bike is on the rack how does it stay in place. Do I need to buy certain straps, is there a certain way of doing it?

Yes, you need straps. The easiest way is to use simple inexpensive "ratchet" straps. The bumper rack has predrilled holes to allow for the ratchet strap hooks to be inserted. I guess you could just use rope but ratchet straps are much easier and allow for easy adjustment tightening. I HIGHLY suggest running at least two completely separate straps just in case vibration loosens your tie down. Check you tie down frequently. Especially on dirt roads.
