Other Uses Besides the Closet
I actually bought this for use in my kitchen on a corner counter that didn't have much use. My cabinets are very high and tall, difficult to use even when you're 5'7". I also wanted to get some of my often-used but bulky appliances off the countertops and out of the way when not in use, but easier to access than in a cupboard. This works perfectly. I was able to free up a couple of drawers by using a couple baskets with it to hold small items (I already had the baskets). Works great for me.

THIS was the most awesome solution. It's not big
was making an entertainment unit....with a closet maid 6 cube laid on side and two 3 cube closet maid units on either side. Needed something to raise up the TV and a wider area for my VCR and also for a CD player. THIS was the most awesome solution. It's not big....check dimensions before you order for what you are thinking you will use it for. It's sturdy but thin 'wood'. Easy to put together.

Excellent Light-Duty Storage
Great shelf. I actually got mine for the purpose of creating more storage space on my computer desk at home. I have it on the back half on my desk with my 2 computer monitors up on it, am using the middle and bottom portions for storage, and will probably be mounting a few things to it to make a home studio. There seems to be a bit of a sag developing in the center, I'm guessing from the weight of my monitors, but I dont see it becoming a problem and otherwise It's working great so far.

Sturdy shoe rack
This product worked perfectly for organizing my shoes in two different closets. Sturdy enough with two units stacked to hold different types of shoes without tipping over or bowing.

I have been looking for a nice looking shoe rack to help me organize the clutter ...
I have been looking for a nice looking shoe rack to help me organize the clutter of shoes in entryway closet. My budget was small so I started scowling amazon for a deal. Everything I was finding in my price range looked cheap and was made of plastic until I found this shelf. I feel like this was the perfect find! It really looks high quality but was an awesome price. Below are the pros and cons I have found with the product.Pros:1) Easy Assembly- It took my husband about 2 minutes to put together. There were only 4 pieces and the holes were already drilled so it was as simple as can be. It came with one sheet of directions that were clear and easy to follow.2.) Sturdy- My biggest fear was it was going to be flimsy and fall apart quickly. This is definitely not the case! The wood seems sturdy and appears to be expensive. No body would guess that I actually got it for $13.3.) Nice Color- I ordered the Espresso and I am loving the way it looks! It also is great because it hides dirt. My kids like to jump in the mud and then throw their shoes in the closet so I am glad that the color really hides a lot.Cons:1.) Made out of Laminated Plywood- The product does not look or feel like it is plywood but it is. I don't think anyone will ever know though!

Perfect inexpensive shelf for my closet
I wanted something that would help me organize lots of small items on the top shelf in my walk-in master closet. I needed to make a little more room for my stuff to get everything up off the floor and out of the way of my clothes. On it right now are miscellaneous things like my spare sheets (those are King sheets folded in that pillowcase for reference), a basket of blankets, my dive skin, misc clothes, etc. Since this photo I added one more small box to the bottom just to neaten up my exercise tops. I'm thinking of buying one or two more so I can organize a few more things. The shelves themselves are about 1/2" thick, and there's a little over 5" of space between each shelf. Overall dimensions 31" wide x ~12" tall x 12" deep.

Simple, very sturdy, each holds 6-9 pairs of shoes
This is a pretty nice item for the price. It’s made of thick, painted particle board (not plastic) and takes about 15 minutes to put together. You just align the holes and screw in a total of 8 screws. You’ll need a Phillips-head screwdriver & a hammer (to firmly attach decorative caps to the screws). Not rocket science at all.The item does come with brackets for affixing it to a wall for greater stability. I didn’t find that necessary to do; I put 2 units side-by-side in our entryway and the shelves are heavy enough that they don’t tip over easilyIf you have very young children and are worried about them tipping it over, you’d want to take that extra step & mount these to the wall, particularly if you’re stacking 2 or more units. (Each unit has 2 shelves and is less than 18” off the ground.)In terms of shoe storage capacity, our family has shoe sizes ranging from a youth 2 to a men’s 10. Each of these units holds 9 pairs of kid’s/women’s shoes or 6 pairs of men’s shoes.Overall, these are a nice addition to our home. Nothing fancy, but they look solid and like “real furniture.”

Sturdy closet organization
I’ve purchased several Closetmaid products and will continue to do so being that I have no carpentry skills. The only tool needed is a screwdriver, and I also recommend a rubber mallet. The product isn’t nice enough looking to replace wooden furniture, but for closet organizing, a basement, or dorm room, it is fine. Directions are easy to follow. Pay close attention to the drawings of finished and unfinished edges (shaded vs non-shades) or you may mess that part up. Don’t overtighten in case you need to redo a section. If you overtighten the finish will crack (it’s particle board, after all). Once you have all the pieces together, go back and tighten all the screws before putting the finishing pieces on with the rubber mallet (or push down hard with your thumb). Once you’ve put one together and gotten the feel for it, it becomes easier/faster to put other ones together.

I bought these for my closet and they are perfect! Actually
I bought these for my closet and they are perfect! Actually, I bought one, assembled it (very easy), set up some shoes, and then came back on Amazon to order another. Note that one side isn’t “finished” so these definitely have to go up against the wall. Also, they are just like the picture. I wouldn’t put them on display but still love them because they suit our needs perfectly and are of decent quality.

Compact and simple, long-lasting
This is the fourth one I bought... the style is so minimalistic and clean. They stack on top of each other so that’s super convenient. It’s easy to assemble by yourself. It looks great, and lasted me 3 years so far. No cracks or anything. The only downside is that it fits 2.5 pairs of shoes lol. The only time I can fit 3 pairs is when they’re really slim shoes like flats. Got a pair of men’s runners in the same row? Nope, you can only put one shoe..

Just as expected.
Very nice presentation. Sturdy and easy to assemble. I stacked up two of these vertically, and removed the middle shelf from one, and then attached the two with a plywood in the back for support, and wa la, it has turned into a bookcase with room in the middle rack (with one shelf removed) for larger/ taller items like a record player. and a decoration piece. Something like this is priced at around $152 even at Amazon. With these two attached, I got the entire bookcase for only $26+26+ tax. Highly recommend it for its quality.

Sturdy enough to hold a retro console shelf!
I purchased 3 of these with the expectation that I would have to reinforce them but was surprised that they hold up fairly well! By that I mean on carpet they are a little tippy if you stack too high and a SMALL amount of side to side wobble.Overall? I’m very pleased for the price!

Frustrated with this purchase
I had ordered 2 of these little organizing units, planning on stacking them for some extra storage behind a door. I ordered them both at the same time, yet they shipped separately. I didn't think much of this at the time, but I now suspect that the second one to arrive had been purchased before and returned. The first one went together no problem, took me all of 20 minutes to do. The second one didn't include the screw/wall anchor/wooden dowel packet for assembly. This is when I took note of the fact that the box had been taped shut, and not factory glued like the first one. So I'm guessing that it had been returned once before because it was missing the screws for assembly. No problem I thought, I'll check with my father, he has lots of screws, surely some of them would work. Even though we managed to find screws to fit, we noticed when assembling it that there were cracks along the raw edges of one of the pieces, a chip in the finished edge of another shelf, and when one of the end pieces was screwed on, it turns out the pre-drilled holes were too far off on one end, meaning the pieces didn't line up properly. In the end, my father took the pieces home to glue together and clamp with wood glue, just to be done with it. I'm pretty disappointed in the fact that not only were the screws for assembly not included, but that it looks as if it had been a returned item that was then re-sold to another unsuspecting customer.
