It's completely safe. I live with teens and my husband.. we keep certain medications in this and i love how every time its unlocked i get a alert and it tells me who unlocked it and how it was unlocked (password or finger print) i can also unlock it right from my phone too. I just love knowing if anyone is even trying to get into it. I was skeptical getting it but its great
