It Does Everything Right
It’s hard to explain without going through each function and describing how it works in detail, but this isn’t one of those cheap electronic devices that just does the job but is hard to understand or has an annoying flaw. This was clearly designed by someone who cares about making a good product. Everything works just right and as expected. The surprises are good ones. For example, if you press the start button without selecting a timer period, it just starts counting up like a stopwatch. Maybe not a big deal, but it was nice to discover a useful feature that’s uncommon for this kind of timer (in my experience) and isn’t hidden behind some menu or button combination that makes it so hard to remember how to use it that you never will. Given all that, this timer is an incredible value. I might not have bought the first one if it was more expensive, since I didn’t know how much I’d like it, but I’ve now bought two more and feel like I’m getting a steal of a deal. It’d be nice if I could get the same exact timer but with a neutral color in place of the orange – preferably gray.

Cute Timers
Like this timer! My students enjoy timing themselves when they do nonsense words or to read a paragraph passage.

Pretty good timer, we like the LCD display, but it's not low-light friendly
So we got this because we wanted something that wouldn't startle our daughter when it timed out, and this seemed like a good option to try. It's pretty simple to use, and it does have both audio and the LED light-only alarm. The pictures may imply the display is backlit, but it is not, so be aware that this is a plain LCD screen. In use as a countdown, the minute segments wink by the second until they disappear. The only actual light is the small LED in the top left corner- it's not going to get your attention across the room or anything, but if you're at the table or set it next to your child they'll see it. It blinks faster as the countdown expires in the final moments and changes between colors at the finish of the timed cycle. One thing we discovered that was nice is the blink of the LED once at each minute of the countdown. It draws attention to the countdown and I think it helps our little girl with getting a feel for the passage of time by having a subtle reminder once per minute as she's watching something. One frustration, which we knock off a star for, is that it's controls are not low-light friendly. We're not fans of any electronics that have same-color buttons with invisible symbols that are just molded into them. It's one of our biggest annoyances, and this timer is no exception to that. Even in higher-lit places it's hard to see the function symbols unless you look at them just right. It's a frustrating thing to have to find light to see which button is which-- all it takes is for them to paint those molded grooves to make them plain to see in low light, but I suppose it's a fraction of a penny cheaper. It's a little thing, but it shows disrespect for how real-world people see and use devices-- it results in a lot of annoyance and wasted time looking for that right angle to see what the buttons do, and potential accidental button pushes as you fumble between the three white identical buttons. You shouldn't have to use a magnifying glass to see what each button does in our opinion. Overall though, it's a good timer, especially for the price is sells for. If the buttons were better distinguishable in lower light I'd give it 5 stars.

Fix Low Light
I want to love it because 14 students with autism need it yesterday, and the the price is perfect for my budget. The only flaw that I noticed is that the light is too dim. Thr orange bar isn't as bright as advertised. There isn't a way to adjust it. Sending 13 back. Please fix this feature.

Visual LCD timer with countdown.
Nice visual LCD timer. Easy for kids to see and use with an optional alarm sound. It is not as simple as the time timers, but this one is more precise and has the additional benefit of the countdown numbers in the middle. IMO, this is better for older kids who are comfortable working with time/ number concepts.

I bought this visual timer for my teen to use while studying, and it has been a great tool. One of the things I really appreciate is that it’s completely silent—unlike other timers that tick and can be distracting, this one allows for full concentration without any background noise. The countdown function is easy to use, and the signal light reminder is a helpful feature, providing a clear indication when time is up. The LCD display is clear, making it simple to set and track the time at a glance. Overall, it works great and has been a useful addition to study sessions, helping my teen stay focused without unnecessary distractions.

As someone who gets anxious easily with a deadline due to my autism, I was concerned that a timer may be the very last thing I needed. However, I quickly found that it's actually almost calming to have this little timer sitting somewhere I can see it, keeping an eye on how long I take to do things and almost competing with myself to do things faster without sacrificing anything in the process. It's not conspicuous, and looks like a regular kitchen timer, so I can have it in the kitchen (where I use it most) without it looking out of place, and the controls are insanely easy to use. Just scroll up for more time, scroll down for less. Start at zero and it'll count up. Start with a time and it'll count down. You can set different 'alarm' methods, including a simple flashing light, perfect for someone like me who gets stressed easily by loud noises. I never thought I'd say this about a simple timer, but I think this may be one of the most invaluable items I've gotten recently.
