This little sensor is like the undercover detective of smart home gear—quiet, tiny, and extremely good at its job. The Zooz ZSE42 800LR caught a leak under my sink faster than I catch typos after I hit send. Setup was a breeze with my Z-Wave hub, and the long-range signal didn’t break a sweat reaching across the house. It just sits there patiently, waiting for a drop of drama—and when it happens, boom, instant alert. If you want peace of mind in a tiny, efficient package, this sensor is the way to go. Honestly, it works so well I’m tempted to hide one in the fridge just to catch suspicious drips.

I'm not sure why some people are complaining about the sensor getting damaged if it gets wet. it's literally designed to detect water leaks, and it's cheap insurance compared to the cost of replacing flooring or drywall. If it gets wet and does its job, great, which is what I bought it for. Setup with Hubitat was straightforward, and it connected quickly to my Z-Wave network. It’s compact, discreet, and gives me peace of mind when I’m away from home for extended periods. I’d much rather get a notification from this little guy than come home to a surprise water damage situation. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it... especially if you want a few around the house in key areas like under sinks, near the water heater, or by the washer. Just don’t expect it to be indestructible; it’s a sensor, not a submarine. But it does its job well. Lastly, I called my homeowners insurance and they gave me a discount (albeit not much but any little bit helps).

Couldn't even stay connected for 5 months to home assistant before randomly failing. I found out it randomly failed after my laundry room flooded with 2 inches of water. Trash product, Trash company. This is such a bad failure nothing customer service could ever do would make up for the cartoonish failure of this trash product.

Bought 15 & all were included successfully into Home Assistant and working fine after a few days. I like that these leak sensors touch the floor since I want to find leaks ASAP. Yes, the sensor might get damaged by water over about 1/8" deep, but I'll get notified way before the water gets that high. I'm fine with losing a $30 sensor to save hundreds or thousands. Some sensors I looked at won't sense water until the water is 1/8" or more. Too late in many cases. They have a very small footprint & easily hide behind toilets & under sinks. They seem to wakeup every 6-12 hours to update the battery status back to controller. So far, so good. If I have issues, I'll update this info.
