Neo Blurring Powder: Korean Oil-Control Compact with Pore Blurring, Smoothing Finish & Travel-Friendly, No-Spill Packaging

Mrs K here: after a lot of back and forth with myself I decided to try this Laneige powder. During the Chicago winters I don't use much powder (52 year old, very dry, post menopausal skin) apart from an afternoon touch up on my nose. In every other month my skin goes full combination (yet remains dry, with all sorts of challenges). I do use powder to set my BB cream, and I've tried so many. This is a really exceptional powder. While I think the sort of Sputnik 60s retro/futuristic compact is almost too much, it's cute, and would look cute on a vanity, if that's your thing. I don't really care about the look of it. The silicone "mesh" inside the compact is pretty slick; the included powder puff is as soft as a kitten's fuzz, and again, secondary to the product itself, though quite nice. The powder is very, very finely milled, and whether applied with the puff, a mini triangle or a brush, only a tiny bit is needed to set your look or to touch up, and it vanishes into the skin. It absorbs excess oils and leaves my skin feeling like actual silk. It lasts for what seems like forever (I went to the gym and did a lot of cooking and other active stuff on a hot day, and I wasn't shiny when I got home, neither did my skin look flat or one-dimensional). Because so little powder is required to buff my skin I expect it to last for months and months; it's not irritating or drying, and I can't believe that I could love a powder at this age, but I do. It also gives that desired airbrushed effect; I feel like I'm walking around in good lighting. Just a really delightful and pleasant product that does what it claims to do, and very well. I recommend it highly.

This powder is everything. The Laneige Neo Blurring Powder truly blurs the skin and leaves my complexion looking smooth, soft, and flawless without feeling heavy or cakey. It sets makeup beautifully, minimizes the look of pores, and gives that real-life filter effect. My skin looks perfected yet natural every time I use it—Laneige nailed this one!!

Missing one star because the distribution of the product is not ideal. When you press down the puff, you get barely any product. But if you slightly lift it, it goes everywhere! I think I've gotten more on my clothes/hands than actual face. Once you do manage to get some on the puff, it actually does blot and give you a matte finish. I just really hope they figure out a different packaging solution!

I’ve been really impressed with this powder. The compact packaging is one of my favorite features — it’s sturdy, slim, and truly mess-free. The inner design keeps the powder contained so it doesn’t spill everywhere in my makeup bag, which is such a huge plus for travel or keeping in my purse. Performance-wise, it does exactly what I need it to do. It absorbs oil really well without making my skin look dry or cakey. My T-zone gets shiny throughout the day, and this keeps everything looking matte and smooth. It also gives a really nice blurring effect that softens the look of pores and makes my skin look more even overall. Lightweight, easy to use, and actually effective — I’ll definitely keep repurchasing this one.

I’m 52 with mature skin, so powders can be tricky for me. Too many either emphasize texture or settle right into fine lines and wrinkles. This one absolutely does not do that. I’ve used Hince powders for years and really like them, but I decided to try this Laneige Neo Blurring Powder—and I’m genuinely impressed. It gives a beautiful, soft-focus finish that smooths the skin without looking dry, heavy, or cakey. What I love most is that it does not crease or settle into wrinkles, even after wearing it for hours. My skin still looks natural and smooth, not flat or overly matte. It controls shine nicely while keeping the skin looking healthy. I also appreciate how versatile it is. I can wear it alone on bare skin for a polished, blurred look, or apply it over makeup without disturbing what’s underneath. No patchiness, no lifting, no weird texture issues. The compact is sleek and travel-friendly, and the powder itself feels finely milled and lightweight. It’s one of those products that just quietly works—and those are often the best ones. I’m certainly not disappointed with this purchase and can easily see it becoming a staple in my routine. Highly recommend, especially if you want a blurring powder that actually plays well with mature skin.

While the powder goes on sheer and does mattify, it makes any imperfections on your face more visible, if you don’t wear too much makeup underneath. I have some redness and small capillaries around my nose and they become more visible with this powder on, so I have to apply extra foundation underneath, which wasn’t my original goal. Same thing with pores. If you have large pores and wear minimal makeup they’ll still be visible unless you apply primer and foundation first. So, if you have perfect skin and your goal is the mattifying effect then this powder works, but if you are like the rest of us and have skin imperfections you’ll need to apply extra makeup underneath for better coverage.

However, the amount of product isn’t huge, so it might feel small if you use it daily, and there’s a small learning curve to getting just the right amount released from the dispenser. Overall, if you want a lightweight setting powder that controls oil, blurs imperfections, and feels comfortable all day, this is definitely worth considering. It’s especially great for oily or combination skin, but still gentle enough that it doesn’t dry out the face.

Not cakey, nice and smoothing and removes shine without creasing. Unsure if it’s worth the price or viral hype, but I like the compact (prevents you from getting too much powder) and think the results are enough that it can have 5 stars.
