Don't have a Craftsman drill press, but I thought that all drill presses had adjustable chucks. These bits are designed to be used with drill presses, so I can't imagine that Craftsman would let you down here. Your drill chuck may use a key to open and close it to your desired size. As with any specialty bit, be gentle & never force the bit. Insert it into the wood a short depth and pull it out frequently to allow the wood chips an escape so they don't get packed in too tightly and overheat the bit. I presume you are working with wood.
