This hose is great! I bought one last year and honestly thought I bought the wrong style end, but I didn’t. This hose was easy to get out of the box and hook up right to my propane heaters and 5lb propane tanks. It also came with the “sealing” tape, but I haven’t had the use it since everything fit together greatly. I like that the cost for this 5’ hose was more affordable than at other stores. I feel like this hose will hold up for years to come and that I will be recommending this hose to others.

This hose came with Teflon plumbers tape!? The hose looks great, but you should never use plumbers tape on a propane connection. My research says the following.: “No, it is not safe to use standard (white) Teflon plumber's tape on propane fittings. You must use only gas-rated yellow Teflon tape or a gas-rated pipe joint compound (pipe dope) designed for gas lines, as standard white tape is not designed for the pressures and conditions of gas lines and can degrade, creating a hazardous leak risk. Always use the correct material for the specific fitting type and consult with a professional if you are unsure. Why standard (white) Teflon tape is unsafe: Degradation: White Teflon tape is not designed to withstand gas pressure and can break down, shrink, dry out, and degrade over time, leading to leaks. Physical hazards: The tape can shred into small pieces, which can then enter the gas line, causing blockages, reduced gas flow, and pressure imbalances. Code violations: Many building codes prohibit the use of standard white tape on gas lines, and using it can lead to failed inspections and potential fines. What to use instead: Yellow Teflon tape: This specialty tape is thicker and specifically rated to resist degradation from gas and pressure.” SO….. while the hose looks terrific and has great reviews, I personally would not use the white plumbers Teflon tape that is included with the hose. I would order yellow Teflon tape specially designed for use with propane.
