Makes my firearm-owning friends jealous.
Hoo boy, this is a fun gun. As I mentioned in another review, my caveat is that I don't own firearms, but have used many. I have not owned a SIG but have handled the real 9mm version, and it's completely spot on. If you've been keeping score, this isn't a licensed replica from an airsoft company (like the KWC P226 X-Five, not to be confused with the X-Five ASP), but an actual SIG Sauer gun designed by them in the US and produced in Japan, sold, warranted and serviced by SIG. They've been ramping up their homegrown airgun line under the Advanced Sport Pellet brand–as they put it, "it shoots like a SIG because it is a SIG." This particular model is based on the 226 issued to the US Navy SEALS, hence the anchor on the barrel. Fit, finish and appearance: A friend of mine has a 226, and there's very little difference at first glance. First, owing to the nature of an airgun, there's a few omitted functions. The slide lock is non-functional and the ejection port is molded in. Other airguns, like my KWC 1911, feature these and field-stripping capability, but SIG decided these are superfluous to the operation, though included them for visual accuracy. It's a ding for accuracy to the prototype, and makes for a bit of a pain checking if a round is chambered, but does not detract from operation. The exterior is painted rather than blued with a flat (not matte) black, and markings/logos/warnings are molded in rather than etched or screen printed. The finish is paint, but looks very close to SIG's Nitron finish—just don't scratch it. Where it lacks in these small details is makes up in just how tight the construction is. The gun is full-metal with blowback and a good kick. Report is LOUD and there's a flash of CO2 vapor from the muzzle when fired. The slide doesn't return as far back as the aforementioned 1911, but has enough recoil that you feel it. Remember, this is intended as a high-end training pistol. The barrel has a threaded extension and cap for a mock-silencer, which Pyramyd sells but Amazon and SIG don't as a kit. Still, it adds some realism. The weight is heavy, within ounces of the 9mm prototype, even with the plastic mags. Slide and barrel, at least on my model, are very tight; I know earlier pieces when this first came out had quite a bit of slop. The grips are plastic with a big "P226" banner on them and should be replaceable with aftermarket versions. Accuracy and Velocity: It's worth mentioning that this is a pellet pistol, which opens you up to a lot more ammo options than a run of the mill BB gun. The mags do accept BBs, have a marking indicating so, and a retaining magnet for loading them, but it's highly discouraged with the rifled barrel. You'll lose a lot of accuracy and tear up the barrel, so suck it up and buy some lead or alloy pellets to try out. The original stated velocity was 500+ FPS, but after independent testing they brought it down to around 450, but that's still only with the lightest aluminum pellets. It seems to like ones in the 5-6gr range. At 15', it's dead-on. Further than that, there's some drop of POI, depending on pellet weight. Sadly, the sights, though drilled with white dots, are plastic and don't readily appear to be replaceable or adjustable; you'll have to go for the X-Five ASP for that. They're otherwise serviceable for quick sighting if you aim up a bit at longer distances. Windage is pretty much spot-on. There's an under barrel accessory rail and I mounted the IMI Defense bridge mount (a SIG copy, down to the logo) and red-dot sight and getting good results. It's far from a competition pistol, but far, far more than just a replica firearm that goes bang. Shoot slow and it will reward you at the target range, or, shoot as fast as your finger can go and blast those soda cans away. At 10m I've gotten best results with H&N Field Target Green and and Crosman Destoyers so far. It does load Gamo Raptors and Prometheus pellets. Operation and handling: The magazines are plastic 2x8 GAMO copies and leave something to be desired, considering the heft and finish of the weapon itself. Still, they work, and while they aren't as innovative as SIG's newer belt mags, 16rds total is nothing to scoff at. They'll load BBs, as mentioned, and any standard pellet short of sabot and weird composite hunting rounds (which this really isn't made for anyway). There's a lot of reviews out there lamenting the mags' propensity to spring out and not stay seated. I thought I was lucky with mine having a nice firm grip on them, but after about 300 rounds, it happened. The problem appeared to be with the release button not returning fully, and a few drops of Pellgunoil solved it for now. Try that before returning your piece. The CO2 loading is a real innovation here. Stick the cartridge in and slap the backstrap together and you're ready to shoot. It takes a good amount of force and swiftness to close, or else you'll lose a lot of gas. Getting them out is a bit of a challenge and I've resorted to holding the gun upside down and tapping the front strap, to the concern of my neighbors at the range. The left-side safety also functions as a decocker, which is a nice safety feature common to the prototype. My local small-bore range doesn't require chamber flags or the like for air pistols, but with propellant in the grip and no way to check the chamber state, it's nice to know accidental discharge is highly unlikely. The trigger action is peculiar and takes a little getting used to. It's nominally DA/SA, but has a long throw and audible (but not tactile) click halfway through—that's the magazine advancing. Pull through this or you'll advance the mag without firing. Conversely, in rapid-firing, you must release the trigger fully, past the reset point. Otherwise, the pull is smooth and fairly light. You wouldn't be able to tell dry firing, where it's much jerkier. In conclusion, this is an excellent machine, and probably the best you can get before heading into the $400 range, which is mostly populated with 10m target shooters. As something made by an actual firearms manufacturer, it's the pinnacle of realism for both firearms training and all-round shooting fun. Compared to other repeating pistols in the ~$100 range, this is the best of the best, and I'm excited for what SIG comes out with in the future. If your tastes lean toward target and range shooting, definitely look into the X-Five ASP, which is the same gun with adjustable sights, modified trigger, and improved mag, but this one's just as accurate and powerful. Shortly after I bought this, the X-Five was stocked again and I had a pang of regret—that quickly dissipated after shooting it.

Read the bad reviews and believe them.
I should’ve paid attention to the bad reviews. I wanted so much for this to be good, fun and useful for improving pistol marksmanship. Unfortunately, it is too weak. Even using the lightest pellets I could find, lightweight alloy pellets, it hits 6-10 inches low at a measly 5 yards. I didn’t expect to be able to use it at 10 or 15 yards but I thought 5 would be reasonable. I wouldn’t recommend it and I wouldn’t buy it again. Oh, and I can’t return it even though it’s within 30 days. Maybe I’ll use it as a target for my Gamo Arrow .177 pellet rifle. Now there was a good buy.

Choose the Sig P226!!
This is an amazing replica. simple CO2 replacement .always always always seat your pellets . Also inspect your pellets sometimes the back of some of my pellets seem damaged or crimped- a fresh CO2 will shoot 4 clips- I like a dab of silicone lubricant at the puncture site of the CO2. This replica Sigg Sauer 226 .177 caliber pellet pistol is so much fun. The trigger fooled me the first go around as I thought it malfunctioned until I squeezed a little bit more. I found it almost dangerous if it was a real firearm, but now I am very used to the feel.. the safety switch is a very good quality, but it took me a moment to figure out how to use it, which I guess is a good thing. Blowback feature is too cool! Eject button is very sensitive with the magazine, ejecting smoothly once I accidentally popped it out while aiming and noticed when it hit the ground some of the pellets wanted to come back out if the pellets are not seated all the way down it could permanently damage something or everything. I took the grips off, taped them, and put two coats of rubberized spray now it feels a little more sure in my hand, easy upgrade. Not a cheap plastic toy just feels fully functional and intimidating to hold. I can’t wait for my blue laser light combo to arrive. I hope you have as much fun as I have with my SIG sour P226 pellet CO2 air gun.

Nice quality, but not accurate
It looks really realistic! It's got a decent weight to it and looks to be made with quality materials. It's really fun to shoot. Not loud at all! It's not super accurate though.

Over 1000 shots thru my p226 airgun and counting
The fastest system for loading co2 in an air pistol, if you need for self defence, there is no better option. Hard to conseal but accurate as needed with in about 30-50 feet. This gun hates the cheap daisy pointed pellets, 4 got jammed in the barrel, had to shoot bb's behind them, took about 2 co2 cartrages full to clear it. I now use gammo tomahawks as main defense, the crossman destroyers as backup(practice) and crossman hollow points for accuracy shooting. Added a green laser to the rails & didn't have to calibrate it. Everyone who has touched it says the weight is perfectly matching the original. It's all metal, no plastic except grips, so its heavy! Once I got used to the weight I fell in love. I'm a Glock guy but Sig had my attention now. Researched this one hard before purchase, and all other for speed of loading co2 and pellets, this one is by far the best. This is not a toy, can break thru plastic, cans, small animal bone, and lots more. Pellets bounce off harder objects but will dent, scratch or stick in targets depending. Apples or peaches give you a good view of ballistic damage for cheap. It's made for pellets only and if you looking for the closest to the real thing, this is it as far as function, speed of loading ammo and co2, and look & feel.

Quick and easy
Very nice gun. Loud that my neighbors were wondering what was going on. Accurate to about 30-50 feet and using the right grain pellets are worth it. Reload of the clip and co2 is by far the fastest I've seen and owned. Ensure to oil the co2 cartridge and area before each use and not once had any pellets stuck.

It's better than I thought don't use recapped older crosman co2
Further updates gun was awesome it quit working im a physicist and I can't fix it and no return for some reason i was under the impression that prime all non perishable items especially 135 dollar bb guns could have a return and replacement but no return but inder is true this is January 10th updates ive had it a few weeks but i shoot a lot if the offer a fix its broken inside i hear something the valve seal for co2 is fine Trigger is moving nothing loose and floppy !!!crosman or any co2 with a thin foil steel seal not the crooked looking older crosman capped co2s and lube them properly but also lube the roller wheel system for co2 cartridges and make sure there smooth enough alloy cartridges to slide up I rock them and get the fit with barrel at a flat or parallel angle to ground straight up and I feel it fit then a quick squeeze it's insanity on accuracy for a loose floated barrel and it has a kinda so so magazine its coman works well for lead but if you use hard copper it wears the slotted port for pellet retention but for a truly floating barrel and kinda huge but standard pistol sights is very accurate though I'm worried about the slide becoming more and more loose so I oil tracks all internal parts and moving parts with NON petroleum based oil I use rc 50 weight shock lube always try to smooth the cot tip and gently apply a small amount of lube for seals I do believe crosman co2 bulks are a little dirty oil and co2but they work on a budget but if you can get better quality ones if you only shoot this on co2 and can afford now I put a laser and light on it I'm a firearms enthusiastic shooter and bullestician very skilled in firearms and pretty skilled with pneumatics I have am physicist this had very decent POWER FOR a blowback I'm using crosman pointed lead h&n is my favorite but I shoot a lot I have 5 gamo rifles a lot of pistols and firearms if you intend to small game hunt I suggest a rifle break barrel 22 or 17 gamo redirect if a pistols desired a Diana chaser or bandit is great and easily accessible powered up by spring spacer or replacement to slightly stronger hammer spring crosman 2240 is excellent if v you really want a different product crosman custom allows a 13xx a 2240 AKa 2300 to be built cheaper than you can online depending upon your desired modifications but Diana chaser is much better quality stock though a stock 2240 is more durable unless you put a barrel band on Diana chaser the rifle kit is insane value this sig is also a good job its extremely relatively similar to a 380 or heavy 9mm in recoil but either way it realistic to a t not for children to take near public I'm a expert and this is identical to the real or firearms version of sog p226 common government issued pistols you would have to be close to tell the difference between these if you could at all most could not and they have 22 similar bore sizes and the other sigs atleast are using recessed barrels so way to realistic if a officer sees you wheel ding it near public but all and so far a decent gun furth

Non-Returnable Cheaply Made Product.
Needed a pellet gun. I own a Sig 45 so of course I decided to buy this gun. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. Out of the box I put in the CO2, filled the mag, inserted it and it jammed in the slot. It was in correctly but the pin for the mag release would not work. I had to pry the mag out, which cracked the mag wheel. The mag release pin still doesn't work or hold the mag in, so I decided to return it. YOU CANNOT RETURN THIS. Sigs' customer service is not helpful. Lesson Learned this is a cheaply made product and I seriously doubt I will do any business with Sig Sauer again.
