But in my experience, HistaBlock has helped reduce my inflammation and allergy symptoms. Symptoms from sinus congestion to wheezing. From regular discomfort to much more serious. Regular H1 and H2 OTC antihistamines are very drying to those of us with certain autoimmune conditions. This supplement works differently (from what I recall) by helping the body not overreact to the histamine and by mucous lubrication, moving the histamine out through normal functions. Natures Sunshine is a company known for research, for thoroughly investigating the growing conditions, harvesting, procurement and transportation of each and every ingredient. And measuring consistency of each batch. I’m not with the company, but over the years have attended several free educational seminars, taught by some Medical Doctors (internists, neurologists, cardiologists), Naturopathic Doctors (who treat world-class athletes), and one of their chemists. My family has used their products since 1980. My medical doctors know which minerals, herbs, vitamins I use and approve. Only caveat is I was told not to switch brands, as my doctors read and agreed to the specific supplements. Now my immunologist is taking Quercetin, too! Some parts of the world have used the components for thousands of years. If you aren’t familiar with the ingredients, they are well-studied and if you have life-threatening (or just annoying) allergies, you should consider reading some of the research done on nettle, quercetin, orange bitter and/or bromelain. If you have question on possible allergens with this product, I’ve called them before, it was easy process to confirm that it was safe for me. A: As per our manufacturer, Nature's Sunshine says, "HistaBlock provides nutrients that support healthy respiratory function as the body battles irritants, pollutants and toxins. Stinging nettle provides well-known support against seasonal airborne substances. This formula provides antioxidant strength to help stabilize mast cells. The antioxidant quercetin has been used for its reputed effects in supporting the respiratory system. Quercetin may help stabilize cells that release compounds when exposed to irritants. Bromelain is an enzyme that works to help reduce the swelling of mucous membranes during times of respiratory stress. Bitter orange contains synephrine, which helps the body support open airways."  In addition Nature's Sunshine says, "As for if it works best with Diamine Oxidase you should ask an herbalist."
