Perfect for walking my dog early in the morning and after dark. We have coyotes in our area that come out during that time of the day so we have to be extra careful. This is perfect. The flash light is nice and bright and goes a long distance.

Once you figure out how it works it's amazing. Very long better life, I bought this forever ago and have yet to have to charge it. I plan on buying another and giving them to the girls in my family for their safety. They have a very strong zap and very loud, loud enough that a few times I made It zap it sent men running away (only in situations I felt I might be at danger) and the light is very bright. Even if it died it has a good weight that if needed you could definitely swing it and get away. Very thick metal with a good weight to it, and it comes with a mini case to attach to something. I keep it in my backpack that I carry at all times (instead of a purse) but I would like more to keep in my other bag I use often and to keep one extra in each of my cars. Amazing to feel safe and great product for the cost.

Nice light. I use stun gun in an unusual way. I have a large yard and small dogs so a quick zap in the air deters other animals and let's my fur babies know it's time to come in. This one works very well for me

MAJOR flaw that you have to turn off the flashlight to use the Stun Mode meaning that in the dark you can't see the person/dog/whatever that you are trying to stun. There is no indicator letting you know it is "armed" so... you have to know the device intimately to be able to switch modes and activate. I hate giving it only three stars since the price is so good. But, for what it is supposed to be used for, I think it's not very effective. The flashlight itself is less bright than I would have expected, which is a shame. Smaller headlamps with less battery produce far more light. That being said, it is useful as a flashlight and the device claims it stays on for an absurd amount of time when fully charged. The manual raises some concerns (Pictured) - it says DON'T OVERCHARGE but it gives you no LED indicator of when it is fully charged. Says 10 hours to fully charge from empty I assume but it came with some charge so it's a guessing game how long to charge it. More concerns in the manual about how easy it is to ruin (Don't Zap for more than 1 Second unless you are actively sending the current into something IE a person.) HOWEVER - there aren't many better options (I've spent time on this) that have as good a reliability and customer rating. The more expensive ones with far better features have terrible quality/reliability reviews. I'm waiting for someone to make a decent baton/stun/flashlight combo. MY ADVICE TO BUYERS - Practice the hell out of using this thing so you can quickly and efficiently switch modes in a stressful situation. Switch to "Stun" give a warning zap (that can stop a dog), Switch to Flashlight, assess, or IF ATTACKED zap the attacker, then switch to flashlight. Assess. Repeat as needed. AND/OR Bring a second flashlight so you can keep an eye on the attacker with the VIPERTEK in Stun Mode. My ADVICE TO MANUFACTURERS - For goddsakes, make one of these where the flashlight stays on while in Stun mode. Have an LED Indicator so we KNOW it's in stun mode, and make one that is longer or telescoping so you can have some separation from your attacker. Most of us use this at night for protection agains an aggressive dog. I don't want to have to bend over and reach out toward snapping jaws to stun an attacking dog. Often an attacking dog is attacking MY DOG, so it's nearly impossible to reach out and get a stun in with this short of a device.
