For the price, this was a great buy. I wanted to try out a herringbone necklace before purchasing a solid gold one so I bought this for that purpose. I wore it all summer without taking it off including in the shower, the pool, at the beach etc. It lasted two months before all the gold color faded. Although it did all fade off and is now just the cheap silver showing through - it never turned my skin green or left any marks. This served my purpose which is why I wasn’t careful with it. If someone were to be more careful and take it off before going in water it would likely last significantly longer and continue to look great.

My mom sells vintage jewlry for a living and she couldn't believe this necklace is under $15! It has great construction, sturdy, and has a good weight to it. The gold plating is good quality, and I've been able to shower with it on several times without it degrading. It's a great piece on its own!
