Since I learned about carbs, calories, fat, etc in my Home Economics class and about metabolism, cholesterol, cancer-causing foods & drinks, etc. in my Health class when I was in “middle school,” I’ve been fully into consuming healthy, unsweetened foods and drinks as a big part of my healthy lifestyle (for 50+ years)!!! This organic unsweetened coconut (flakes) is a perfect addition to smoothies, salads, homemade nut mixes (trail mixes), dishes of “plain Greek yogurt & fresh berries,” and baking, in general. Unsweetened oatmeal with cinnamon tastes wonderful when topped with this unsweetened coconut — So delicious and healthy in moderation. Unsweetened coconut is a healthy fat, that has a low-glycemic impact, and supports mental clarity, endurance (for exercise), and helps to satisfy hunger when consumed in small portions (1 tablespoon). It’s naturally anti-inflammatory, and supports good heart health. Its fiber promotes healthy gut, and helps with digestion and regularity when consumed in “smart” portions (1 tablespoon)! It really helps with muscle function, and their recovery. It’s great for metabolism. I can go on and on about the health benefits of organic unsweetened coconut “when it’s consumed in SMART portions!” Remember, it’s all about “smart” portions (aka portion control). This is delicious, and contains “natural” sweetness. (NO sugar and NO sugar substitutes added! Ditch them; they are no good for anyone). Sugar is known as a silent killer! As soon as you open the bag, the delightful smell of pure coconut hits you. This grated form has a much nicer texture than the shredded type found in grocery stores. I also prefer organic unsweetened coconut over types that contain added sugar. It has a beautiful, pure taste that is incredibly fresh and delicious. Excellent for baking or adding to yogurt, oatmeal or smoothies.

I used this in my baking and it was nice and fresh and tastes good. Expiration date is way ahead in time too... It will be used up by then.

This is very finely shredded perfect for cookies or anything else you want coconut flavor but not the bigger pieces. Works great for my molasses cookies.
