What battery is used for these units? and how long do they last?

Two 9 volt batteries one in each piece. They will last quite a while but using the lights would exhaust the battery more quickly. I started using mine a year ago and still have the same batteries but I doubt I used it more than 2 hours total on time and I didn't need the lights.

How many meters trace this device in electrical cable ?

I have used this to set a signal on a cable (3 x 2,5 square millimeters copper) over a distance of 140 meters, and the signal is still strong enough to be heard through a wall. I could confirm the signal being present (meaning the cable was unbroken) by holding the probe on the outside of a house close to where the fuse box is located inside the house. You can also add dampening by using a button on the probe allowing you to only catch the signal when you are close to the perticular wire that has the signal connected to it.

can it tracer work in 440 V live circuit?

In the manual, it talks about the voltage tester and says not to go over 250 VAC so I'm going to say it would be asking for trouble trying to use it on 440, sorry.
