A: Electric...manually feed into drain about 12".. best to manually feed back into spool

**Q: I've tried hand cranks w/ 1/4 cable that go in about 10-ft & begins to twist around itself & I never get any farther. Will this 1/4 have same problem?**
A: This guy is powered by electricity. It powered thru a big blockage for me. And I will say it comes back fairly reasonably.. I m glad I bought this unit. T hats for dam sure...

**Q: Is it automatic return to its housing?**
A: Yes.  The hand lever forward leads the coil into the pipe and in reverse to retract.

**Q: Is the tool head replaceable. If so with what type.**
A: The tool head / Auger head is fixed . Bulb auger snake type. You replace the whole cable. it is 1/4 inch x 30 Ft long Ridgid replacement cable  . Just make sure the cable is WELL LUBRICATED.  the lubrication will facilitate easier movement of the cable in and out of the drum.
