It obviously does require a USB header, I have mine plugged into the Lian Li Edge Hub and works fine. It does require a bit more power, I use a PWM and a SATA power adapter. Airflow is excellent and with all UNI fans it's beautiful to look at and highly custmizable. Installation was simple with the included cables. If you want wireless functionality you will need the dongle.
