A starter is generally not required for D47. Simply sprinkle evenly on top of the must and allow to rehydrate for 20 minutes. Then stir it in. Stir every day for 3 days and then stop stirring and allow to settle. Rack over to your secondary, leaving clumps and sediment behind.
