Just so you know, that means they sent me a free one to test, but they didn't pay me to write this, and I'm going to give you my honest take on the product. I own a bunch of softboxes and umbrellas of all different brands, shapes, and sizes. But when I'm on the move, I tend to grab my umbrellas because they're just so darn portable and easy to use. I figured I'd give the Godox Quick Release a shot . I specifically went for the 65cm size since I wanted something small that could easily slip in my gear bag. First good news, this little softbox is exactly what I was hoping for size-wise. When folded, it's only about 33cm long. You get the usual stuff you'd expect with a softbox: inner and outer diffusion fabrics, plus a carrying bag. No surprises there. One thing to note: it doesn't come with an egg crate panel. Now, the product photos do show a diffusion plate, but it wasn't included in my package. I've checked review photos from other folks, and they didn't seem to get one either. Godox, you might want to update your pictures or give a clearer breakdown of what's in the box. Anyway, the softbox feels nicely made. The quick-release mechanism is where this thing really shines. It's super smooth and literally takes only a couple of seconds to open or close. Fantastic! Since I own a ton of Bowens-mount lights, both flash and continuous, the included Bowens adapter was a big plus for me and my workflow. I tested it out shooting portraits as a sort of makeshift beauty dish, and it did a great job creating flattering, soft light on my subjects. An egg crate would've been the cherry on top to really control that light spill, and I need to check if Godox makes one for this size. All in all, this little softbox is a winner in my book.
