Man oh man is this lil line spooler a must have. So first let me tell you I read other reviews and even watched some videos on youtube about this device. I ignored the bad reviews and figured for just over $20 I would give it a shot. Man was that a good decision. Pat my self on the back!! I have a family of six, and all of us needed new line on our reels. This device is very easy to use if you follow the instructions. Put the handle in to the receiver, loosen up the nut that hold the two spool ball clamps, tighten the very top nut to keep anything from spinning, spread the ball jaws and put the spool in (line comes from top) and then tighten the jaw nut. Loosen the reel seat, place reel in and tighten the seat just like you would on your rod. Take your line and tie it to your reel spool, loosen the very top nut so the spool can rotate and start reeling. I did six reel spools in 4lb flora line in less than 30 minutes while watching tv. This is a must have tool for any fisherman with or with out a family. I was so impressed with the quality of Piscifun that I went with their brand when buying a fishing fannypack. Spoiler, I like the quality of that fannypack so much I have the Piscifun fishing single strap back pack in my cart waiting for payday. Also have their fish grabber/weight scale in the cart too. You can tell this company makes fishing equipment by fishermen for fishermen. I have tons of high end tactical gear and high end hunting gear that all require modification for my applications right out of the box. You have no idea how refreshing it is to buy any kit and have it do exactly what you need right out of the box. P.S. Included in this box was two packs of worm bass style baits free of charge. Like wow, Free. I would give this company more stars if amazon would let me.

So much easier than other reel spoolers out there. It is a solidly made unit. Nothing feels cheap. Definitely worth it. Extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Piscifun Fishing Line Winder: I received this and had to give it a try. I used it to spool 30 lb braided line onto two different reels. One of the reels was a Kastking 50 round baitcaster and the other was a Shimano LX4000. The Kasking Baitcaster was very straight forward. The spool was locked to remain level with the reel spool. The reel was upright and facing the spool which fed line from underneath. Pros: It laid down the line with very even tension and although the cranking wasn’t very smooth but it nicely got the job done. I will note that the line must feed off the spool from under the spool. Spooling with the line coming off the top had tangling and feed issues but feeding from the bottom worked well. Cons: The spool holder isn’t wide enough for a 600yard bulk spool but it can be made to work with enough tension on the line. The tension adjustment knob was sticky and difficult to adjust beyond a certain point. It was equally sticky and difficult to release the tension. The locking mechanism to keep the spool from rotating worked but wasn’t really solid. Now for the spinning reel. The line winder did the job nicely with the spool head released to rotate. The direction of the wind off is equally important and best set up with the spool locked, make a single turn of the crank, stop and release the line head so it can rotate. I spooled up the reel without incident. Pros: It is impossible to completely wind a spinning reel spool backwards with this line winder. This is possible with others like the Berkly Line Winder and after you do it once you are very careful not to do it again. You cannot make this mistake with this line winder. The line goes on with even tension and without any twisting. Cons: Much the same complaints as with spooling a baitcaster. Same difficulties adjusting the tension. Same issue with spool size. In the end the line spooler does the job it was intended to do. At $30 it is as good as the more expensive Berkly System, but it doesn’t rival the systems found in most tackle shops but at the price, they pay for a professional winding station you better get something really fantastic. It could use some attachment to empty a reel and make changing lines easier but again you’re paying $30. Overall, I am happy with its performance.

For years I’ve struggled with putting fishing line on my reels. This little item has ended that struggle. It took just a moment to put it together and another moment to mount the reel and line that was going on the reel. I couldn’t be happier and would definitely recommend this to everyone that has bait caster, spinning and fly fishing reels. I absolutely love it!

Day 1. First I had to un-line my two spinning reals. Line coming off the line was twisted a knotted as it came off. It was originally lined with the spool on the ground pulling thru the rod to the reel. It was a nest of twists just waiting to happen. It was a little tricking at first setting up my first reel, but in a few minutes I was loading my line. The spool was spinning while I was loading and my wife was laughing as it looks like a strange device with the reel and spool spinning around. It just took me 15 minutes to do two spools, half the time it use to take. I did have to give the spool a bump to start the spin but then it worked well. The real test is when I used these for fishing in a week or so. I will try to remember to update this comment. // I have filled 4 reels and been fishing 4 times. I did not have a single line twist issue with any Reels except the reel that I did not fill with this tool. This thing looks crazy and it can be a little tricky getting the spool of line setup on the tool, but then it just goes on quick and easy . It still looks crazy with all the spinning spool while the turning of the reel cranking, but it works. Even works with a wide spool of line 300ft I think.
