THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE. I’m picky about deodorant. Most “clean” ones either quit by noon or smell like a yoga studio meltdown. Nécessaire The Deodorant Olibanum actually does the job and doesn’t make a scene. The scent is subtle, warm, and grown. Olibanum reads earthy and resinous, not perfumey, not medicinal, not trying too hard. It smells expensive in a quiet way. Like good skin, not fragrance. Formula-wise, it goes on smooth, no grit, no sticky weirdness, no white marks. It holds up through real life, stress, errands, heat, movement. I don’t find myself checking or reapplying like I do with most aluminum-free options. Bonus points for zero irritation. No burning, no itching, no post-shave regret. I also love the color of the packaging. Clean, effective, understated. Worth it.

I’ve tried several natural deodorants including: - necessaire - salt and stone - native - each and every Necessaire (hinoki) is the best. It’s easily the best and reducing and masking odor. Good smell. Salt and stone smells good, but kind of blends with odor instead of masking it.

Truly scentless, actually controls odor (none of my other deodorants have been able to!). It's so expensive but definitely worth it!

Truly the most effective natural deodorant. The fragrance is phenomenal, frankincense softened by vanilla and a green fig, i wouldn’t call the vanilla prominent (i don’t want to smell like a 21 year old’s birthday cake and generally hate vanilla, so this is good news). It lasts all day even on super hot days and it easy to wash off and start fresh. The acid content is high enough here that i did have to start with every other day application, alternating with a weaker deo. It still irritates from time to time, at which point i take a day or two off, then resume. It can leave white marks if i don’t let it set all the way down and im wearing a tank top, but the marks are much more faint than with others. Having written this all out I’m realizing that the caveats are many, but worth it to me. And the packaging is so pretty.

If you have sensitive skin, you have to try this deodorant. I have tried many "natural" options but would ultimately end of up a rash. I've been using this consistently for almost a year and have had zero issues. Keeps me dry and fresh. Eucalyptus is my favorite scent!

I have no idea what olibanum is supposed to smell like, but the scent of this deodorant is actually lovely. It's warm, fresh, and light. Not cloying, and doesn't turn sickly when mixed with body odor. On that note- I haven't even had BO since using this. I'm postpartum (so hormone dumps and inconsistent showering), and even when I wasn't, I've struggled through trying what seems like every deo available over the years. Cheap, expensive, natural, not. This is on it's way to being one of the only deodorants I actually finish up, and that makes it well worth the price. Again, smells great. Doesn't cause irritation. This simply works for me.

for all science people, you know that if you know how to wash your body properly, you can make any deodorant work, but most deodorants do not have the anti-odorant ingredients necessary to kill and prevent bacteria. This has Triethyl Citrate and Zinc Ricinoleate which are odor neutralizers as well as Mandelic Acid which helps in its own way too. I was expecting the thickness of the solid deodorant to be a thicker slightly stickier/harder wax, but it’s a very light and thin wax that is not oily or greasy at all. I actually also use this as a vulva deodorant because O Positiv has the same anti-odorant ingredients in their intimate deodorant as Necessaire’s deodorant, but they’re not as high on the list so the formula is not as potent and concentrated. Simply put it worked but I prefer Necessaire’s Deodorant. Necessaire’s The Deodorant is more concentrated with active ingredients higher on the list and there are less filler ingredients. This removes 100% of malodor while the Necessaire gel deodorant in my experience removed 96%. Having a waxy base that cannot be rinsed off or sweated off helps keep the skin and it’s environment inhabitable to bacteria that causes odor. I love this brand so much! I always hesitate to buy their stuff because I feel like I couldn’t get cheaper alternatives, but nothing compares! I got the solid deodorant in fragrance free and Olibanum. Idk why i find the Olibanum deodorant to be more irresistible than the lotion when thwyre the same scent. The packaging is sturdy and doesn’t feel cheap. It’s actually extremely moisturizing! It will be a sad day when they discontinue or reformulate this product.

The product inside is a 5 star product. Best deodorant I've ever used. Knocks out my body oder and keeps me smelling delicious all day long; even in the florida heat. THE PACKAGING IS AWFUL. Hence 3 stars instead of 5. A screw on lid for deodorant is the most unintuitive things I've ever seen. Hard to get on straight and makes a simple task complicated in the dark morning rush to get ready. There's a plastic dome on the inside of the lid that will get gooped up with product if too much is pushed up. I appreciate the components being heavy and luxurious but that same weighty component could be made like any other deodorant and be a MAJOR improvement. Still the best deodorant I've ever used. Will be repurchasing. I just think the overall experience of applocation can be upgraded greatly by simplifying the packaging.
