Am I paying for 6 or 8?** A: Before seeing your question, I felt my box was so light that I measured it. I expected 8 pounds, but only received 6 pounds. **Q: What cutting is this?** A: I believe it’s second cutting. It’s crispy and my rabbits love it! I used to feed them Oxbow and since I’ve switched to this, they eat significantly more hay. **Q: What's the difference between this Value hay and your regular offering? Ive bought your regular box and it sounds same** A: I didn't find much of a difference at all. The main difference is the price per pound on the value hay is a dollar less that the premium. Both are very comparable as far as quality. **Q: Do you farms use herbicides or other chemicals containing aminopyralid?** A: Most farmers do not use pesticides or herbicides on hay because these chemicals are costly in comparison to what farmers are paid for hay harvests. These chemicals are generally reserved for fruits, vegetables, and grains - more expensive crops generally reserved for human consumption. Whether Small Pet Select purchases any hays treated with this chemical is highly unlikely, but I cannot say for 100% certain. They do have an organic hay guaranteed to be 100% natural if you have concerns regarding any chemical contamination. I have been feeding my rabbits SPS hay for some time and they are healthy and thriving. Their hay consumption greatly increased with the introduction of this hay. It has long crisp strands and is absolutely the highest quality hay I have found. My Guinea pigs loved it that much they barely left any. Now for the last 2 boxes I've bought they have been full of durt which is dangerous as Guinea pigs to inhale.
