I have patellofemoral syndrome and my physical therapist recommended that I buy a brace like this instead of a sleeve type brace as it would keep my patella in place better. So, I found this on Amazon and it's excellent! I have two pairs so I don't have to worry about misplacing it before my workouts. The quality appears to be pretty good, the lettering on the front will peel off over time but that's typical for wear and tear. I would suggest cutting off the little tag on the side by the velcro because when it's new, the tag doesn't stick to it but as you wear it and it gets older and softer, it starts sticking so you need to peel it off before putting the brace on. It's very comfortable to wear and I regularly forget that I still have it on after workouts!

Works So Far For Chondromalacia Patella
I was diagnosed with Chondromalacia Patella and have been suffering immense pain for 2 years in my left knee. Doctors have recommended surgery recently, but since it's a costly affair, I chose to try this product out for its good reviews in the meanwhile. As others have mentioned, it does work. I have been wearing it since 2 days straight (ever since it arrived), even went to sleep with it, and I haven't felt much pain since. Although, the back-strap did irritate me a lot at first (which is why I'm giving it 4 stars), but after a couple of hours I kind of got used to it.

Placebo effect or not, it works
~ INTRODUCTION ~Many years of pounding have led to my knees hurting after playing sports, esp those involving jumping and running (which basically covers it all). For a while, my best treatment was rest but the problem persisted and I learned about this knee strap through multiple anecdotal sources so I figured I'd give it a shot.------------------------------------------------------------------------~ PRODUCT DETAILS ~There isn't much to the item. I ordered three from ATAFA through Amazon and they were very quick on the order and delivery. They used a large bubble envelope that fit all three quite nicely. Each one came in original clear plastic packaging. Since it was small enough, my order arrived inside my mailbox so there was no need to sit by and sign for the package.------------------------------------------------------------------------~ USAGE, COMFORT, and RESULTS ~As per the original images, the strap is very simple as it wraps around right below the knee and stays via velcro. It is made of neoprene (?) similar to knee braces with a tube hidden inside that is positioned right below the kneecap. It stays in place using a velcro strap. I've used it a few times already playing basketball and it's actually comfortable. It doesn't fall, shift, or slip. However, since I never wore any sort of knee brace/support, I occasionally get reminded that I'm wearing something there. Nonetheless, I think it has worked like a charm. As per those who recommended it to me, I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who has a resemblance of jumper's or runner's knee.------------------------------------------------------------------------Recommendation: This is a very simple and inexpensive product to try for those with jumper's or runner's knee. It won't create any miracles but it definitely has helped me feel more comfortable with minimal post-activity discomfort. Whether or not there is an element of the placebo effect in there, esp if used in combination with other recommended treatments, the product does help and it's amazing to see it in such a simple item. Good, but no miracle worker
Worked well, relieved minor knee pain, but it doesn't stay put as well as a regular knee brace.PROS:-Better then expected for minor knee pain-Doesn't get as hot as a regular knee braceCONS:-Doesn't stay in place as well as a knee brace-Not great for long term hiking.

Strap causes chafing and bruising in back of knee
I have been wearing the Pro-Tec patella support for the past 15 years and they worked great. However, it was time to replace one of them so I thought I'd give the Mueller one a try. While the front part of the strap is comfortable, the wrap-around is too long so the strap in the back ends up getting untucked causing the strap to rub against the back of my knee. I use it for running and the rubbing strap in the back caused my skin to chafe and even get bruised. Maybe for people with bigger knees that don't have excess strap in the back it'll work better but the current strap design is faulty.

It also wasn't really comfortable or secure - it kept slipping
Didn't really work for me. It also wasn't really comfortable or secure - it kept slipping. Ended up going with a pricier and more comfortable/discreet version.

Recommended it to a few of my friends with knee pain caused by for years of running.
I had the older version for a few years because my knee would hurt after basketball game. No more knee pain after basketball game after using the strap. Then, recommended it to a few of my friends with knee pain and stop running. They wore down their knees as long time daily runners. That helped them for a few more years and finally would not work. Nevertheless, it is still working for me. I lost it recently after a basketball game and ordered one again. This is a newer version is more comfortable and continues to perform as described. Inexpensive and helpful product.

Not my favorite knee strap but it is adjustable enough it can ...
Works well. My knees start to give/ache after hiking over 7 miles and this helps give extra support. Not my favorite knee strap but it is adjustable enough it can fit on my tiny knees. I have a difficult time finding knee braces that fit-I am petite and it is hard to find XS knee braces.
