**Q: What is the coolant in the metal freezer unit?**
A: No idea what the coolant is - except it is contained within metal, never leaks out and works well even after a few years. Arlene

**Q: What is the exact height and diameter of the freezable cylinder? I would love to know before purchase whether this will fit in my mini-freezer.**
A: 5 1/4" across and 4 1/2" high. When I had a mini-frig the Donvier did not fit in it.

**Q: How big is the cylinder you put in the freezer?  I have a small frig and freezer.  Thank You for your help!**
A: It is not large - about 8" in diameter. It is a great toy!    Arlene

**Q: does the coolant need to be replaced?  If so, how expensive is it, and how difficult is it to find?**
A: The coolant is sealed inside the container that does the freezing. It NEVER has to be replaced.  The Donvier is an incredible little gizmo. The pint one works better than the quart one. Arlene

I have had several of these. Assorted sizes and colors. Work beautifully. Lost them in a series of quakes a couple years back. Since moving I wanted another one. Just love it. Didn't get all the parts but it still works just fine.

This is a very nice ice cream maker. You do have to hand crank so it doesn't freeze solid. For me this adds to the enjoyment of making and eating the ice cream. I love that the top is clear and I can see the ice cream getting thicker. The canister has to be frozen before use and it cannot be run through the dishwasher. However, it works great is smaller than most of the other ice cream makers I've seen, an dos better than the newer equivalent.

All you need is ingredients, a freezer and willing hands. Awesome! We’re not interested in store bought ice cream anymore. I wish that this company still made these ice-cream makers!!!
