## Description

Lu must learn to leave his ego on the sidelines if he wants to finally connect with others in the climax to the New York Times bestselling and award-winning Track series from Jason Reynolds. Lu was born to be cocaptain of the Defenders. Well, actually, he was born albino, but that’s got nothing to do with being a track star. Lu has swagger, plus the talent to back it up, and with all that—not to mention the gold chains and diamond earrings—no one’s gonna outshine him. Lu knows he can lead Ghost, Patina, Sunny, and the team to victory at the championships, but it might not be as easy as it seems. Suddenly, there are hurdles in Lu’s way—literally and not-so-literally—and Lu needs to figure out, fast, what winning the gold really means. Expect the unexpected in this final event in Jason Reynold’s award-winning and bestselling Track series.

Review: Great series! - My middle school daughters love Al the books in this series!
Review: All about Love - Jason Reynolds writes really great books. Lu is the last book in the Track Series, about a bunch of kids on a track team. Lu has a good home life with loving parents. He is an only "miracle" child. He is a Black Albino. And now his parents have told him he's going to have a little sister. And he's no longer sure that he's the lightning bolt he's always thought he was. This one is about accepting who you are, overcoming being different, and loving your families - both the one you were born with and the one that you create. It covers so many things and it made me misty. I recommend the whole series. They're short quick reads.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A lovely finish to a great series!

4.5 stars Lu and his family are THE CUTEST. So, this book opens with Lu finding out his mother is having a baby, and then becomes a great take about making mistakes and rising above terrible choices. Reynolds ties out his amazing series with a very honest tale with some tough life lessons built-in. Addiction is a big part of this story, and I think it’s an important and relatable topic for middle grade literature. Our kids today are seeing and experiencing addiction in staggering numbers and we need to discuss the consequences and impacts of this disease more openly. And what makes this book even better is we finally learn so much more about Coach. His childhood, his past, his philosophies, his family... A great ending, bittersweet, yet satisfying.
