Love this beauty!
I'm going to start by prefacing something that I am seeing in prior reviews. "Knife won't open..." I'm not going to speak for QC of others knives, but I do want to address a common issue with some thin profile lock bar knives. This is not related to a specific brand but more something to have knowledge of design. If you are not careful, any pressure on the lockbar will impede the opening. you have to watch how you place your fingers on the lock bar side of the knife. I will say that the thumb stub is smoothed and tiny with the cut out it is not the easiest to deploy "slow roll", but "thumb flicking" works great. Having said this, my knife is beautiful. fit and finish is done well. Blade is centered, lock up 50% and the action is smooth. There is a lock for the lockbar when open to give it some extra safety as well. This design is elegant (see the trade offs above). Love the Wharncliffe and flat grind (full flat) . it's a good balance of 3mm 0.12" thick stock, but the flat grind makes it a great slicer. This is a great gentleman's folder. I don't use clips much (dropped back pocket kind of guy). The clip is well done but seems a little stiff if you are planning to use it. Why I bought it. $40 for a 14C28N (one of the toughest and most well rounded SS around...love it) blade with Lock bar and bearings (action feels like bearings anyway). This is a great value. If you have anyone who enjoys simple, refined, elegant, this will be appreciated. Minor caveat, I'm left handed...this is a purely right handed knife. Doesn't bother me as I'm used to it...and I didn't buy this for that...I do own and enjoy lots of knives, so for me it is more appreciation of the tool. Just know that if you are getting this for someone...make sure they are not left handed. *Maybe check out the P801 (dual thumb studs and flipper tab open). Both are great gentleman folders. I have now purchased 4 Ruike's knives, they are great quality (at the price point). I love 14C28N. <--This is not easy to find in a folding pocket knife these days. But I do prefer it over Aus 8 and D2...even 440C. I appreciate those steels, but for 14C28N Sandvik steel at this price point. Joy! Lots of Joy!

cool knife with a major design flaw
i love ruike knives and this is the third one i bought. i really loved it in pictures but as soon as i got in hand i realized it had a major flaw. with the thumbstud this knife ships with, it’s almost impossible to open. thankfully it’s threaded so you can replace it. i just took it off and put a kwik stud on it (the aftermarket thumbstuds for traditionals) and suddenly the knife is so much better. if you love the aesthetic of this knife and don’t mind adding another 5-9 dollars to make it usable then go for it. but still, i am a little disappointed in ruike for releasing this one in the state it’s in

perfect everyday knife
this really is a great knife. the steel sharpens well hand holds an edge. the knife is light and ultra thin so you don't notice it in your pocket. the only con is that the point is super fine (not really a con), making the tip of the knife a little fragile; however, this also makes the knife great at digging out splinters or detailed work. edit: when opening the knife, keep your finger off the lock bar or the knife will be very difficult to open.

I was so disappointed when I got this Ruike
I was so disappointed when I got this Ruike. I have all the ruike knives on Amazon's website.even have some from way back, when they were little known, This knife is the ONLY disappointment I've had with Ruikes. How this knife got threw QC is unbelievable. I sent this knife back after trying everything I know to get it to work. This knife is a beautifully constructed, BUT, the one I received was NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN.! Thus my disappointment. As far as the gentleman who cavalierly and impolitely states to disregard the reviews, like mine, who warn their knife collecting/using brothers and sisters to be warned about their legitimate concerns regarding this knife, I would say it is immature, disrespectful and quite arrogant to think that he is the center of universe and only his OPINION is relevant. I'm 70 years old & own LOTS of blades (well over 100). I'm glad that some guys got better products. However, I believe those results are probably the exception. If you got a knife that works like it should, keep it and consider yourself LUCKY. I will continue to buy and collect Ruikes, however, I will not have this model in my collection, at least not yet. Good luck to all. I wouldn't wish my disappointment with this blade on anyone. A few minor adjustments (larger thumb stud, stud placement on the blade and ceramic pivot mechanism, a flipper design, etc.) could make this folder a wonderful item. My advise, pass on this knife until Ruike fixes it or IF you feel lucky, take a chance and see what happens. gs

Long Break In
At first I gave this knife a 1 star review because I could barely open it out of the box. I missed the return window and got stuck with this. Now I'm glad that I did. This knife has a very strong detent, which requires a lengthy break in. I took it apart just so I could push on the lock bar for a bit to loosen it up. There's also some technique to opening it. You can't have your fingers touching the front of the lock bar at all. Even the slightest bit of pressure will keep the big detent ball from coming out of the overly deep detent hole in the blade. I lay my middle finger on the over-travel stop disk, and my pointer finger on the pivot screw as index points to get the right grip. A looser grip helps as well - you can grip tightly with your pinkie finger, but keep your other fingers more relaxed. The last bit of technique is that the knife opens easiest pushing forward on the thumb stud rather than out. Lots of opening and closing while sitting down and reading or watching TV helps to break it in more quickly. If you're willing to deal with the pain in the rear break in period this an otherwise very well made, beautiful, thin, and light knife at an excellent price.
