awesome spiralizer!! the best!
I bought this a while back, and kept putting off using it, convinced it would be a pain, or not work well. I finally opened it, and I love this thing!! It is so easy to use, works really well, and all I had to do was rinse it off and then put it away again when I was done! Easier than using a kitchen knife for slicing. Love love love it!! One reviewer mentioned cutting the zucchini into 2 inch sections - but I put the whole zucchini on it, worked great! I took the small center section that is left over and quickly sliced it up and tossed it in with the rest of the zucchini! That really is not a deal breaker, not sure why some make such a big deal over it. The suction feet stuck really well to my Corian kitchen counters, I can't say how it would work on formica, apparently some have issues with it not sticking. However, since the feet are rubber, it doesn't really slide around. I didn't realize that it had suction cups til after I was done. I also had to press down with some tension to get them to stick. They worked really well when I did engage them. I did a quick saute on the zucchini noodles to soften it, and then used it in an italian casserole as a pasta substitute. It was *faster* and easier than having to boil pasta! I was able to make everything in one dish - once I was done with the zucchini, I took them out and set them aside (in the dish for the casserole), then added onions to the same pan to start my sauce. One less pan to wash, no boiling water. My kids knew I used zucchini, but said that the taste and texture seemed the same as regular pasta! score! They liked watching the spiralizer in action and want me to use it more often. I can't wait to make sweet potato noodles (just saw a recipe for a creamy cajun sauce on sweet potato noodles, how yummy does that sound?? Just google that term, the recipe will come right up on brittanyangell dot com, not sure if we are allowed to put links in here. That site has incredible recipes! Very creative for anyone that is gluten free, and even anyone that is not!) I am thrilled with this thing. I have a fetish for kitchen gadgets, but they often go unused. This will be a well used item at my house!! Just search on the internet for "spiralizer recipes", there are tons out there now. Or, just use your favorite pasta or salad recipes, and sub in spiralized noodles. Healthy, nutritious and fun!!

The Amazing Paderno World Cuisine Slicer
I just bought this utensil when it came on sale for just under $23 two weeks ago. When I first received the slicer I was a little skeptical about the plastic handle and the plastic resistance bar you use to push the vegetable towards the blade. However, overall the piece looked very nice for the very low price I paid. I really liked how the 2 other blades were neatly tucked into the utensil right under the tray along with the suction cups on all 4 legs. Good use of space! I decided to use a very large zucchini I had to test it out and make some, what I like to call, zughetti. I was amazed at how easily the tool turned my zucchini into spaghetti. It was like magic. I had to apply very little pressure on the resistance bar and the crank to get it to work. The strands came out so even and beautiful with very few strands breaking in the process. The little 1/4 inch part of the zucchini that remained didn't bug me one bit. I just threw it in with the rest of the zuggheti I lightly sautéed on the pan. I don't understand why people are complaining about that. It's STILL a VEGETABLE! Cut it up and use it for something, anything! The next thing I tried was a potato using the straight slicing blade. It very neatly spiralized my potato into perfectly thin slices. Most of them were connected which I thought was pretty cool. You could easily deep fry or pan fry the potato slices to make potato chips or really anything you want. When slicing the potato, a lot of liquid was oozing down the side of the slicer down to the bottom of the tool because I did not dry off my potato well enough. To avoid extra clean-up in the case that this happens, I highly recommend removing the 2 other blades from the storage section and placing them somewhere clean and dry while using the slicer so you don't have to rewash those in the event that your vegetable is a bit juicy. One piece of advice while cleaning the blades. I made the mistake of scrubbing the blade attachments down with a bristled brush. This is ok to do on the side the blade sticks out. But beware of accidentally getting your bristles caught between the plastic and the blade. This will cut the bristles off your brush and probably eventually dull your blade. These blades are very sharp. I also found that it is easiest to use with larger vegetables. Things like thin carrots and zucchinis aren't going to work well unless you are really looking for a very small amount to add to something like a salad. In my opinion, the bigger the vegetable, the better, especially for things like vegetable spaghetti. I will update my review once I use the slicer more. For now, I think it's great. The reason I am giving this item 5 stars is because, for the price, this is a great tool. For those of you who are complaining about the device being plastic and "losing" part of the vegetable (which in reality you don't lose anything unless you choose to), good luck finding another slicer for the same price and functionality that is not made of plastic. I would love to see one. And since you do know it's plastic, treat it with care. No need to put rock hard vegetables through it and break it. I appreciated reading all the helpful reviews on here that helped me decide to buy this product. I love it.

About six months ago, I had purchased a Joyce Chen spiralizer on recommendation from the sales lady at the expensive kitchen store. I hated it. I have to cut my veggies small, it is inefficient, and has a hard time doing different veggies. Not so with this spiralizer! I love this thing. I simply cut off the ends of my veggies, "lock" them into place and spiral away. We are raw in our family so this is used to prepare "meal sized" portions rather than just garnishes. It is so easy to use, fast and efficient, easy to clean and takes way less time than the other useless spiralizer. So far we have just spiraled zucchini, fat carrots and sweet potatoes and cucumbers. Even my "I don't like that" child loves the veggies made from this spiralizer. The cores that come out, I simply slice up and put into what ever we are eating. That same child loves finding all of the different coloured circles--AND EATS THEM happily. :) I was very happy with the price as well. This gadget was the one recommended by the many different raw authors of whose books I have read as well. It seems very sturdy. I like the suction cup feet. When I am making enough for a meal, I will put the spiralizer on top of a few cutting boards and then have the veggies fall into the bowl below (saves on washing more dishes). Also on that note, a standard size glass baking pan (think cake pan, brownie pan) fits perfectly underneath to catch the veggies when it is suctioned onto the countertop. I would recommend this for sure! ps. even both of my young children (6 and 8yrs) love to help make dinner. It is that easy to use!

Really pleased with this spiralizer. Its strong enough to tackle sweet potatoes and makes slicing onions a breeze. Enjoying the courgette pasta too. Easy to clean and seems more fun than the conventional chopping board and knife ! The USA amazon.com site has 1,834 five star reviews on this product which helped me to decide which spiralizer to buy so check them out if in doubt. The handle comes separately and needs to be unscrewed and then inserted into the handle holder and then screwed back together before use.
