The connectors click in securely, the retention clips feel solid (not flimsy), and the braided sleeving looks clean and professional. Length is just right at 10 inches, enough to improve cable routing without creating a spaghetti monster inside the case. Build quality is consistent with what I expect from Cable Matters: sturdy connectors, snug fit, and no weird looseness in the pins. They feel safe and reliable, which is exactly what you want when dealing with GPU power. If you need a little extra reach for a graphics card install or just want to clean up your cable layout, these are a simple and solid solution.
Review: Excellent extension cable - Yes its just an extensiom cable. But the most important part is the wires are all 18AWG and all 6 wires are included. That means it will supply an equal amount of power as an 8 pin cable. This also makes the extension a good value compared to far more expensive alternatives. Note: the only reason 6 pins carry less current is because the original spec only had 5 wires in a 6 pin connector. You can verify this is true by looking at your power supply cable. There are only 6 wires and a jumper that splits 2 wires off to the extra 2 pins. Also the two extra pins are only grounds.

**Q: Whats the Awg? 14? 18?**
A: I haven't measured what gauge they are, but visually they are the same gauge as the pci-e cable connecting to the psu.  I'm using them to connect a single pci-e power cable to a gpu and a pci-e riser, and they have worked very well for that.

**Q: Will this work on a modular synth power modules like the Arturia Rackbrute?**
A: these are basic extenders, if you have a 6 pin power connector it will work

**Q: Will this work with a evga g3 psu?**
A: You would have to check the connectors on the power supply.  Too many of the makers design them differently so you will have to buy from them

**Q: Can i use this as a peripheral extension cable from the peripheral port on the psu to the peripheral cable (not pcie)? looks like so, want to be sure**
