Easy to install, fit great, and lock down the hood slightly tighter than the stock latches. Time will tell as far as how they hold up over time. The instructions weren’t great but it’s pretty easy to figure out.

These are constructed well and fit the OEM hatches pre-drilled holes exceptionally nice. Once installed they are nice and snug, close easily without any rattles or hood vibrations. It took me only a few minutes to line each gasket up with the locking pieces and secure the bolts. I spent more time removing the old rusted nuts, bolts and corroded gaskets. I highly recommend this set, the material is solid and the locks turn easily with both sets of keys. This is a fantastic design and such an incredible value at less than $40. I’d definitely recommend to upgrade and secure your hood!

See the video for a full review. Came with good instructions, easy install in 30 minutes with an Allen key, 10mm socket, and shallow 13mm socket. My only complaints are that it’s a bit difficult to get the key in the key slot when the latches are locked. (I think the lock mechanism wiggles a little out of place when you turn it to the locked position.) If the lock mechanism is critical for you, go with another product. The lock is pretty cheaply made and you won’t be satisfied with it. For me, the lock was not important. Also, the hex key head on the back of the bolt for the bottom latch is misleading—it makes you think that you need to torque both the bolt and the nut. But the bolt is permanently fixed in place, so when I torqued it the head snapped off. The bolt still holds in place though, so I’m not too worried about it. All in all, the latches seem reasonably good, though I would expect a little better quality for $50. I know that many name brand latches go for $100+, but that’s just ridiculous in my mind. I don’t see why you should have to spend $100 to get decent hood latches.

Great product and very sturdy with tight fit and once installed protect anyone from opening hood. Quality metal that won’t bend and I like the compact, clean look. Installation was tough due to needing to squeeze tools into tiny space that took me hours to figure out but that is fault of Jeep design.

I was so excited for this install, with how windy it has been the hood flutter has been scary, also loved that these lock so no worrying about someone messing up my Jeep! I included a before during and after photo as well! I Ordered these on Friday night and recieved them on Sunday. Shipping was super fast!! The install only took about 30 minutes. All you need is a rachet with a 10mm and 15mm socket. And a Allen wrench is helpful to have handy for the screws that go on the hood. They literally take the place of the factory ones so no new holes need to be drilled. I did take off the front grill to help access the nuts on the fenders much easier. That only takes a couple of minutes. Just 6 push fasteners on the front top of grill. All you do is unbolt originals and replace with the new ones. They are a bit snug to snap shut But that’s also a great thing! Once they are locked there is no getting into hood without the key. They provide 4 keys total. I have one on each set of Jeep keys and one on my set of husbands truck keys and on my husbands set of keys too. I highly recommend these as a replacement, there is no way of cutting them easily to bypass the lock to get into hood and they are solid metal too!

I was really disappointed that this locking latch wouldn’t fit my 2018 Rubicon Recon 10th Anniversary addition Jeep. I wanted to lock my hood and this latch is a nice latch. It’s made of stamped metal with a hard black powder coat finish. I like it’s low discrete profile. The key uses a hex key design also a plus for it. But the latch just falls a big short to allow for it to latch together. A few of the things I don’t like are the instructions are simple but also vague. It doesn’t explain the difference between the gaskets. Now I know how to choose which one, but if I was to ask a person new to diy they could get confused. The other thing I didn’t like was it said it was compatible for my Jeep. Overall this is a good product miss marked. Takes less than 10 mins to install. It will take longer to remove your head light or inner fenders to get access to the bottom half of the latch.

Holds hood tight

I love the look it gives my 2017 jeep wrangler. It compliments the chrome grill and chrome on rearview mirrors I have also. I still get a lot of compliments on my 9 yr old jeep.
