Of course, there are gaps at the top and bottom where a small amount of light can get through -- enough so a room is not pitch black if the curtains are closed. **Q: What is the inside color that you see from the street?** A: These curtains are the same color on both sides. I ordered two sets - navy is navy on both sides & burgundy is burgundy on both sides. **Q: Can you see through them at night from the outside?** A: Nope.
