just got the item ordered couple of days ago when there was a small sale and come back today finding its even cheaper now. quite disappointed to see this. I like the look and still testing them out, feel tight on my head at this stage hoping they will stretch. sound sounds quite good at this stage. i would have given more stars but just still testing them out and built for smaller heads

I thought this would be heavy but it is surprisingly light on my head and I can’t even tell that I have the headphones on. Sound is amazing, the bass is not head throbbing to the point I get headaches. I played Hans Zimmer for hours with the bass booster enabled on Spotify EQ-Lossless and DTS:X, it felt like I was in a new dimension. Gaming-wise, I haven’t tested it for that long but BF6 sounds very good. I can hear everything. These are my first Sennheiser headphones and I’m very impressed with the quality and performance so far. I will keep these for a long time and buy another model in the future. Cheers!

hd599 tier comfort and hd560 tier sound but even better. Clamp is less than 560s (one of my only complaints, really), these are probably my new favorite Sennheisers. Bass is clear, punchy, and not boomy. Midrange is fantastic, along with highs which aren't too sibilant, no EQ needed. Highly recommend if you like music or games or good audio in general. Listening to tracks on Spotify right now and everything just sounds good. Great job, Sennheiser engineers.

It's a 4/5 headphone, but the price puts it in a bit of an awkward spot. The 560s is $150 CAD and performs extremely similarly, and a step up to the $350 CAD 600 is more than worth. You can also get the 6XX from Drop for about as much money as this, after considering import fees. The 6 series have the classic handmade KDH 580 drivers, while the 5 series uses the cheaper, cost effective SYS drivers. Their treble response is, unfortunately, far less clear with some annoyingly grainy treble. The bass response is also not what I'd call better, and my HD 600 actually has what I'd describe as better, fuller bass Impact (which was already the weakness of those headphones). The build quality, while rugged, also feels very cheap and plasticy. Again, I'd recommend just going with the more expensive options from Sennheiser. I'd also explore alternatives if this price point is required, like the Hifiman Sundara/Edition XS (depending on vendor), FiiO JT7/FT1 Pro, etc. These have the potential to deliver higher quality sound with better drivers, but the tuning may not be as good as the 505 out of the box. If you have one, it will may satisfy you. Comfort is good, albeit the chassis doesn't conform to your head very well. I just find it awkward to justify at the price point.
