I picked up the Sodola SL-SWTGW0108P (Web managed, PoE, (8)x2.5G, (1)x10G SFP) for my home lab, and for the price, it’s hard to beat the feature set. Pros: - Excellent features-to-price ratio – you get a lot of switch for the money. - mGig support with smooth auto-negotiation up to 2.5Gbps. - 10G SFP+ based uplink port that auto-negotiated flawlessly with my upstream Cisco 3560CX. Tested with multiple cables/SFPs (Cisco 10G DAC, Cisco 10G SR and Intel 10G SR SFPs using OM3 MM fiber) – all worked without issue. - PoE+ on all 8 copper ports, with PoE++ on port 1 for higher-power devices. - Fully managed with a solid feature set: spanning-tree (CST/RSTP), LACP, VLANs/Trunks, QoS, Jumbo Frames, etc.. - Works perfectly with the PoE+ powered Ubiquiti U7 Pro AP with 2.5G uplink, delivering ~1.2Gbps for WiFi 7 clients during iPerf3 testing. - Wired 2.5G clients hit ~2.2Gbps sustained during iPerf3 testing. - Connected to a HUNSN N100 OPNsense firewall via 2.5Gbps links (Intel I226-V) – all auto-negotiated fine, with stable throughput (~2.2Gbps). - Connected to a YANLING YL-CLUL2 Proxmox host using Intel I210 1Gbps NICs. - Responsive support – they quickly provided firmware assistance (though oddly, a downgrade from v1.9.2 to v1.9.1). Cons: - The web GUI is buggy. Early firmware wouldn’t allow changing the admin password. Fixed with provided v1.9.1 firmware. - Web GUI is CGI based, and is HTTP only. If you care, segment it and don't expose this to the internet, not that you should be doing that anyway. I have it in a /30 dedicated VLAN terminated at my firewall. - Over time, the GUI becomes inaccessible due to MAC address aging, requiring multiple reload attempts to reconnect. This could be seen as a pro, as the thing doesn't speak unless spoken to. - Still too early to comment on thermals or long-term reliability. - The backups are exported as a .bin file and can't be viewed/manipulated externally. - Documentation is a bit lacking and can be unclear in certain sections, making it difficult to fill in the blanks if you aren't experienced with the specific technology/feature. This was especially evident when configuring VLANs and associating them with access or trunk ports. Bottom line: For the price, this switch punches well above its weight. It’s not perfect – the web GUI quirks are frustrating – but the hardware performance and feature set are excellent. I’d recommend it for home labs or SOHO deployments where you want enterprise-like features without the enterprise price tag. *Disclaimer: I ran my word salad review through AI for formatting and refinement. Really good option for a variable speed compatible 2.5 switch. I bought two, both working like a charm to give 2.5 across my whole network, fully loaded with lots of traffic I've not observed any aberrant behavior. If I need a 3rd, will not hesitate to buy. Quiet, doesn't get hot, just does the thing.

Worked for poe that I needed. It does get a little hot but so far no problems.

This thing could be great. But the way the fan kicks on and off is honestly, just plain obnoxious. More than my 2u server. I wish it would just run all the time or never. Or they could put something more quiet like a radial fan on what needs it. You can replace them with a noctua fan linked in to the 12v but that feels so unnecessary for something so easily fixable.
