I've only given it three stars because it was my fault for ordering the wrong type of lye. I needed lye for my house hold drains. These are large crystals and very difficult to get down my drains. I'm positive it works very well for the purpose it was made for. I just made a mistake

Beware this product nowhere near says it is for food. I bought this for two reasons One to make pretzels the other to make soap for Christmas gifts. It said it is food grade but nowhere on the packaging does it say food grade approved nor does it say laboratory grade. No phone number listed for the company I'm just going to possibly kill somebody

Despite saying this is for food in the product description, nowhere on the bottle states it is food grade.
