bought a new office chair, the seat is hard as a rock. This cushion save my life and my hemmoroid thanks you!

I do a lot of distance driving, and I also recently had to take a couple of cross continental flights. All of the sitting usually leaves my body in so much pain, I had come to dread travel and even vacations. On normal seats, the pain radiates out of my gluteal muscles and down my legs, and ultimately up through my back and shoulders within a couple of hours. By the time I get where I'm going, I could cry because the pain is so bad, and as a result I end up in a bad mood. Not a great way to arrive at your destination! This pillow works so great, that even though I don't love all the sitting, travel has become virtually pain-free. I was astonished to get out of my car and off the plane with no pain at all! Maybe a little stiff from the confinement, but the difference in my energy level and mood was OUTSTANDING. I even bought one for my brother when I realized he had similar pain from long drives as well. I will say that when I use it in the car, I feel like it boosts me up really high (my brother said the same thing), but I think over time the cushion has compressed, or maybe I just don't notice the height difference because I feel so hood. You will have to adjust your mirrors and your seat, and it takes a little getting used to, but it's worth the effort.

Very comfortable

This was fantastic! I developed large hemorrhoids when I was pregnant and was in a lot of pain trying to sit down. I work at a computer for a living, so it was just awful and I ended up taking time off because I couldn't handle sitting. I researched online and finally ordered this pillow. It worked great! Took the weight off the hemorrhoids so I could sit comfortably (well, as comfortable as I could), and was even useful for putting an ice pack in the middle while sitting to help try to shrink the hemorrhoids. However, I've since realized it's not very useful otherwise - it's not terribly comfortable to sit in normally, but it was definitely worth purchasing for hemorrhoid relief!

I am a writer and sit at the computer for many hours a day. My doctor said to "get a donut" when I was stressing my back and hip pain after one such day. So I got this one. I didn't research much, I just bought one that seemed to be what I needed. This one is OK but really hard. I have had it for a couple of years and it is still just as hard as it was when I got it. It is discreet in that the cloth covers the hole but I don't really care about that. It is oval which my bony bottom is not but it did help my posture some and lessened the pain in my lower body. It definitely will NOT flatten out after a short time because I have been sitting on mine for years and it is still exactly the same as it was when new. I recently bought a thicker, different style seat cushion made with memory foam and that is so much softer and more comfortable. But this donut did help ease the pressure of sitting for long periods of time and it may be great for those who suffer from hemorrhoids or other issues where sitting on a flat surface causes pain. It's durable for sure. Comfortable? Not as much as I would have liked. I got used to it but now that I have the new seat cushion, I realize I didn't need to sit on such a hard surface to get a little extra padding and pain relief.

I bought this to use on my work chair to help with hemorrhoid discomfort. I have since learned from my colorectal surgery office that doughnut pillows are NOT recommended for hemorrhoid relief. (See note below.) That's more of a long term issue though, and this pillow was horrid to sit on for even short periods of time. I did not get through a full day of sitting on this pillow. Its top is all rounded off with no ergonomic contouring to support your hips or legs. The foam is very stiff and doesn't warm up to the body, so you just constantly feel like you're perching on top of a ridge of foam. I actually had new aches in my hips and legs and back after a few hours with this pillow. I tried to rearrange the pillow and myself several times with no success. I have kept the cushion in my office for the last few months and tried it again and again, each with the same result. I thought doughnut pillows were the best support for hemorrhoids, but apparently that's the opposite of the truth. This is info from my colorectal surgeon, backed up with studies I found. Sitting on a doughnut pillow is like extended sitting on the toilet- it puts added pressure on the hemorrhoids and exacerbates issues. It's better instead to find a big soft pillow that supports your entire bottom evenly. But even if you need a doughnut pillow for other reasons, I would find one with more ergonomic support than this one.

Works well with physical condition. Good quality, material and foam.

Most folks use donut pillows for hemorrhoids and fractured tailbones, and I am sure this pillow would work perfectly for those purposes, but I found that if I place this pillow under under my right hip only while lying on my back it gave wonderful relief from my sciatica. An excellent value for the price I paid, it is firm and provides good support, and the cover can be removed for washing. It is honestly the best donut pillow I've ever used.

Not Worth as it doesn't serve the purpose.....Waste of MONEY!!! Do Not BUY!!!

I purchased this for someone else and the only thing I can say is they thought it was quite firm but comfortable.

I having a job that makes me sit for hours whole day, and being a hemorrhoids patients. this cushion has helped me a lot relieve my pain which was unbearable. I have used this cushion on a 13 hour long drive and it was totally worth it. the shape of the cushion may change after usage but it get back to original shape as soon as you leave it for a while. The cover fabric material is soft and comfortable too. Highly recommend to people who do jobs like me and who do a lot of highway driving.

I wish I didn’t need this , but due to a tail bone injury I could need it for life . The price is much less then in health stores, now I have one on every chair

its probably better than most because it's thicker a nd makes it easier for the wheel chair user to get in and out.4 stars might be a bit harsh but even this one doesn't retain its comfort indefinitely.
