How much danger/heat issues could I face by replacing a lava lamp bulb that requires 120v 20watt r39 bulb with a 120v 25watt bulb?

I am using the 25 watt reflective for my lava lamp - no issue - lava lamp works better.

My lava lamp lights up but does not flow. What could be the issue. Ive had it brand new yor many years

I'm not the seller, but I've run into this problem before. It's possible that the bulb wattage is incorrect: too low and the lava won't flow, too high and the lava gets cooked. Another possibility is that lamp has expired (I think the average lifespan for the lamps is about 2000 hours). Hopefully it's the first scenario!

Recommended replacement for my lava lamp is "25 watt type r14 bulb", while these are r39. question for the seller, would these work and pose no risk?

If you have the brand name lava lamp, "The Original Lava Lamp", these bulbs will work in them. I used them in 2 different lamps and they work with no issue.

How do i replace the 25 watt lava lamp bulb in california? these are outlawed.

It's the heat given off by the 25-watt incandescent bulb that warms the wax mixture. If it doesn't generate the required temperature rise, then nothing will happen. It will still require a certain amount of heat regardless of how it's generated. I guess that means a lot of lava lamps will find their way to the dump. What does the CA law mean for the use of aquarium heaters, reptile heat mats...etc? The sole purpose of those items is for heat generation.
